Help please! UK size 12-14 hollister sizing - L or Xl?

Hi, I know many of you think hollister is neither style nor beauty but today’s the last day of their sales and their coats look super warm. I’m a UK size 12 in Oasis but have put on weight so closer to a 14 at the moment, which size would you go with? Thanks :)

Order both and send one back.

I want to try a few styles - I don’t have the cash to randomly order approx £400 of clothing...

Go to the store then

I’d go for XL, but I like winter coats to have a bit of room for layers / a thick jumper

BanningTheWordNaice · 31/12/2019 13:15

Shockingly peachypetite I might be ordering online because there isn’t one near me and the sale ends tomorrow... never mind I guess no one here has tried hollister recently so will just have to try my luck.

@banning their size guide says L is a UK 14-16, I'd go for that

CeeceeBloomingdale · 31/12/2019 13:28

I find their sizes all over the place (my teen wears their clothes). I'd probably buy XL in a coat (I'm the same dress size as you)

BanningTheWordNaice · 31/12/2019 13:31

Thanks heidbuttsupper - I checked out their guides but their sizing is notoriously all over the place which is why I was wondering if anyone had bought from there recently. I’m just going to order much more than I’d like to in one go and see. Wish I could close this thread now as I only started it if anyone had shoppe there recently :)

Cross poss CeeceeBloomingdale ah useful to know, thanks! A 16 anywhere else would drown me so I was hesitant.

I am your size and recently tried on a jacket in there. If you want to wear a jumper under it then definitely go for the XL

Mrbay · 31/12/2019 13:34

12 is a large and xl is a 14, they are cut pretty small

Tinyandpetite · 31/12/2019 13:41

I tried my sisters size L new coat from there, And she’s a 12 and was tight on me I’d go for the XL if I was ordering

BanningTheWordNaice · 31/12/2019 13:41

Really useful to know, thanks everyone!

Hmm, I'm a 16-18 with massive boobs. My Hollister coat is an xl and has room for a jumper. I could do the large up but had no jumper space.

Anotherusefulname · 31/12/2019 13:44

And I bought it in November so this years stock.

BanningTheWordNaice · 31/12/2019 13:46

Anotherusefulname Do you remember the name of it by any chance?

Just looked at the label, it says heritage collection. Looking online I think it is the cosy lined parka. It is a lovely warm coat not too heavy.

BanningTheWordNaice · 31/12/2019 14:00

Ah fab thanks for checking that’s actually the one I really want.
