Have you had Botox for crow's feet?

I'm thinking of having this done, but people don't generally tell you they've had it done and I want to ask real people, not online reviewers.

Did it work well?
Did you get new wrinkles in a different place instead?
Did it change your eye shape?
Can people tell you've had anything done?
Is there any other difference in the way you look, other than when you smile?

Works really well
No to everything other than to me my cheeks look fatter when I smile

PapayaCoconut · 30/12/2019 12:43

Thanks for your answer! How often do you need to get it topped up?

I’m interested in this too, and how old people were when they had it done? Sorry to hijack your thread @papayacoconut

I've had it for crows feet, as well as my forehead and in between my eyebrows. It has worked really well- I'm bad for squinting so it's been good for preventing more too. I get it three times a year, from a dentist. One thing I'd advise is to make sure you have it done by some sort of medical practitioner, not just for safety, but for value too. A friend of mine took a cheaper option and it barely did a thing. She's going back to the dentist next time.

I had it on my crows feet three years ago. It was incredibly embarrassing as everyone noticed instantly. Along with making my smile look weird as it didn't stretch to the eyes, my cheeks looked much rounder and not in a good way. It was mortifying and I still cringe when I think about it.

Thisismyhappyface · 30/12/2019 13:17

I have it in crows feet and forehead. It looks amazing, no one other than DH noticed, but I looked so much fresher and less tired

Oh, most definitely. DSis had hers done by some "beautician" and it did nothing. It was in her forehead though.

@heartshapedpositnotes Did you go to a medical professional or a beauty salon type place?

Have had for crows feet as well as forehead and 11s. Of those 3 areas, the crows feet is the most subtle imo. I get done by a dentist and he said to me there was a limit to the difference it could make in that area due to the movement every time you smile. Didn't notice any of the things you mention but have heard ppl say that it makes you get more lines under your eyes (?) or something. Been doing for 3 years and haven't noticed. Currently pregnant so can't do it and hating how knackered I look! Pregnancy glow my foot, botox works rather better!

heartshapedpositnotes · 30/12/2019 14:29

I went to a well-known professional on Harley Street, has great reviews, eye-wateringly expensive etc. I don't know whether it's just bad luck that it looked weird on me, or too much was put in, but I completely underestimated how much it changes the essence of your face.

So I'm sorry to put a dampener on everyone else's positive experiences. And maybe I have too honest friends, but it seems clear as day to me now that of course people notice, they're just often too polite/embarrassed to say anything!

itsaldramarama · 30/12/2019 15:19

I used to but now I just have forehead and lines between my eyes , last time I had crows feet done I hated it , I looked strange and expressionless when I smiled plus the skin underneath my eyes seemed to bunch up , definitely prefer how I look now , more natural but not as grumpy and tired

Delatron · 30/12/2019 17:10

I looked weird too. Bit dead behind the eyes. Not a good look. Shame.
I have a friend who also got more wrinkles under the eye.

Delatron · 30/12/2019 17:11

I also scrunched my nose up and kind of snarled when I smiled!!

Theroigne · 30/12/2019 17:17

I had it done but it made this weird crease appear in my tear trough (I’d be better off with fillers in this area tbh but I’m too scared to get them) and it also made me look a bit dead behind the eyes. It also doesn’t last as long as the number 11s I get done (which look fab IMO). Last time I had it done I asked for 5ml rather than 10 at each eye and it looked a lot more natural. I think I would Aimee for baby botox in this area - so there’s movement but the harsh lines are softer. I might go and get it done again in the summer.

I actually think ‘laughter lines’ (I do NOT call them crows feet!!) are quite attractive anyway.

Theroigne · 30/12/2019 17:17

Aim not Aimee Confused

Delatron · 30/12/2019 17:19

I missed my laughter lines! And looked at my friends in jealousy.

I went to a very good doctor too. Had less the second time and it was a bit better but still worried about other lines appearing.

girlygirl98 · 30/12/2019 17:22

I had it done a few times by a doctor and was brilliant for a good 6 months. Last time though I had it done very cheaply at a different clinic by a nurse. Lasted a month tops. Not sure if she was over diluting or what but I think I'll go back to the doctor next time

Ilovetolurk · 31/12/2019 01:09

Mine lasts 3-3.5 months
