Waxing

How much does waxing hurt in various areas? I know pain is subjective but just a rough idea? I've had my eyebrows and chin done and that never hurt much, but upper lip I find quite painful for a few seconds. I'm thinking more intimate areas, armpits, and legs?

On the classic medical pain score where 0=no pain and 10 = the worst pain you can imagine I’d say my eyebrows are 5, legs 4 or 3, most intimate of intimate areas 7. But all over in an instant. Also pain is much reduced if you get it done very regularly - every 6 weeks for me.

The post painful place I've found is the ankle area weirdly. Although I've never had extreme bikini waxes so doubtless that would hurt much more. Armpits I expected to be more painful than they were.

*most painful

I get a Hollywood bikini wax and it doesn't hurt. I've had one today which is the first day of my period (meant to be the most painful day for waxing) and it was fine. It does depend who does it as I've had waxes that don't hurt but are a little uncomfortable around the top (the part directly below your belly button - just above the top of the vulva. It's best if they rip off that bit sideways instead of upwards). Get a recommendation and make sure they are using warm wax, apparently cold is more painful and less effective (I've never tried it).

I am a massive wimp who is really really scared of any kind of pain. Couldn't epilate even under sedation, or get a tattoo or anything like that.

I’m (almost) with @Chochito. I have all off and I would say it’s discomfort rather than pain. But l would avoid both just before and just after a period. Also, if you can avoid sex the same day, it’s better.

I should add, despite, my lack of pain threshold (total wimp) and also having sensitive skin, I am not very hairy down there (beauty therapists have told me, and from general comparison in changing room / swimming pool situations).
