Mudmasky leave me on winter mask has been a great find, it’s worked wonders for my dry skin and a primer too.
Off to look for the mouthwash.

BillStickersIsInnocent · 31/12/2019 20:25

A few things have really sorted out my spotty skin this year. Been using salicylic acids in various forms and brands for a while but these products (new to me this year) and this routine is working for me now.

Evening - Inkey list salicylic acid face wash, then Beauty Pie super Retinol night renewal cream.

Morning - splash face with water, clearasil pad wipe over. SPF then I’m done.

Skin has cleared up massively.

bingowingsmcgee · 31/12/2019 22:52

florrie it really doesn't! And when I've used other soaps I've had a tight face. It's weirdly creamy. I'm sure it's helped settle my spotty/rashy bits too. I'm chuffed with it cos it's so bloomin cheap and poundshop-tastic.

MamaFlintstone · 31/12/2019 22:55

Lancôme Teint Idole nude foundation - it’s a lightweight/glowy foundation which actually lasts well on me which is unheard of.

Illamasqua colour veil blusher - it’s like a squishy liquid blush that blends so well and I’ve worn every day since I bought it.

Lumene vitamin c serum - makes my skin look a bit pepped up every morning and a little goes a long way.

LightOfAThousandStars · 31/12/2019 23:01

Cerave Hydrating Cleanser - Fragrance free and doesn't dry out my skin. Great to use with a flannel.

The Ordinary Glycolic Toner - Evens out complexion and adds a radiant glow to the skin.

Deathraystare · 02/01/2020 19:41

Clinique power lash mascara, never known a mascara too give such great results. My daughter asked Christmas Day if I’d got lashes on!

My Godson's wife asked if I was wearing false eyelashes - I had on Essence (Wilco) Princess mascara - around £3!!!

Weleda now do their Skin Food in a body butter and it's amazing. Best 2019 discovery by far.

dancemom · 04/01/2020 10:13

Philips Lumea

Revitalash

icannotremember · 04/01/2020 11:11

Oil to milk cleanser- someone on here said the accepted wisdom that oily skins should avoid oil cleansers was rubbish and they were right, it has been a revelation. B Pure is my favourite so far.

Niacinamide! I didn't believe the hype but bought some on offer in superdrug and got so many comments on my skin looking brighter and better. And I ran out a few weeks ago and didn't buy more, and have noticed my skin looks tired and dull, my nose is spotty and my red patches are bigger and redder than in ages, so I have just ordered a load because it clearly works for me :)

RiskIt4Biscuit · 04/01/2020 12:34

Bobbi brown face base - I use this as a moisturiser and it makes my foundation look so much better.

Milani conceal and perfect foundation - looks great and is quite affordable. I prefer this over ELDW.

Revitalash lash serum - it just works.

Hourglass finishing powder - it makes my skin look really good.

Maria Nila heal shampoo - I've had a lot of postnatal hairloss and generally have a sensitive scalp (partly due to my hair air drying) and this shampoo has made my scalp feel better and my hair has seemed less tangled, meaning I have not pulled as much at my hair when brushing.
I doubt it has helped with hair regrowth.

Olaplex - it is a nice treatment/hair mask. My mum recommended it and it has made a massive difference to her too.

Colourpop powder eyeshadows - cheap and really good shadows at a great price. I especially like the going coconuts palette. I hope they're coming to the UK as shipping from the US takes a while.

O'Keeffe hand cream - it's better than any of the more expensive hand creams. My DH swears by it.

Purplecatshopaholic · 04/01/2020 16:35

Phillips Lumea. Fenty make up. Fab!

SapphireSeptember · 04/01/2020 22:47

NYX lipglosses. As someone who's often been disappointed with lipglosses not looking anything like they do in the tube once you've put them on I've been very impressed with theirs this year. They also smell really nice (different scents across different ranges though.) The Strictly Vinyl, Slip Tease, Midnight Chaos and Duo Chromatic ones were my favourite.

NYX suede matte lipsticks. I love these. I love matte lipsticks that don't drag.

mathanxiety · 05/01/2020 07:17

Aveeno Maxglow Micellar Gel Face Cleanser. Cleans makeup off really well without drying.

Benton Snail Bee serum (contains snail mucin and bee venom). Has done wonders for my undereye area.

BangingOn · 05/01/2020 12:04

Great thread!

I’ve become even more obsessed with Korean skincare this year and my favourite discoveries are:

Laneige Lip Berry Sleeping Mask, although I cheat and use it as a glossy balm during the day too.

Elensilia Natural Skin Clinic Centella Asiatica sheet masks. These are one of the few products I buy again and again as the difference in my skin is instant.

I also love Ouai Finishing Creme- my hair is fine and wavy but can get dry and frizzy and this transforms it into smooth and gloosy with defined waves instantly.

Violetroselily · 05/01/2020 14:15

I've refound Benefit Roller Lash. Hated it when I first used it years ago, tried it again in mini this year and my lashes look amazing. Lots of people asking if I've had extensions.

Aussie 3 minute miracle reconstructor - I swim a lot so use this once a week and my hair looks great

febel · 05/01/2020 16:40

Does the hydrogen peroxide you mention whiten your teeth then or keep them white after treatment?

kmini · 05/01/2020 18:23

@Fluffycloudland77 - with your mouthwash, do you still need to be careful having coffee and red wine like you would with teeth whiteness? Also does it cause sensitivity? Thanks - such a good tip!

Aberforthsgoat · 05/01/2020 18:27

Chantecaille just skin tinted moisturiser
Superdrug vitamin e range

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/01/2020 18:31

Tbh I just mix it in a cap and spit out when it’s bubbles up too much to be comfortable.

I only have two coffees in the morning and don’t drink.

febel · 05/01/2020 18:38

Revitalash did stuff all for me unfortunately, I did wonder if I'd been duped by amazon seller.
I love Tropic cleansing system...cleanser, toner, moisturizer. It's calmed my skin down amazingly, and my daughter's, plus is a very natural product. Tempted to try the makeup
Also, Temple Spa eye cream...love it. Used it after I'd met a friend who looked really well and restedL...she said she'd been using it. It is amazing for me as I don't like most eye creams..or they don't like me!
Daughter loves Primark tan in a tube..says it's fab and is super cheap! Also, St Moritz ..also super cheap fake tan mousse. ((I'll cut corners with beauty where I can!)

febel · 05/01/2020 18:43

Niacinamide...tablet form or topical can I ask? Always looking for ways to de age my skin/protect it!

MissKittyBeaudelais · 05/01/2020 18:47

Holland and Barrett’s own Dr Organic Anti Ageing Collagen Cream with Black Pearl. Works wonders for my skin.

BillywigSting · 05/01/2020 18:54

Dr organics charcoal face wash.

My skin has never been clearer.

Unfortunately my local Holland and Barratt has stopped stocking it so have to buy online now.

I said to the girl behind the till 'no I'm gutted it's the only thing that stops my spots!'

She replied 'but you don't have any spots?'

'exactly my point!'

Veet sensitive skin hair removal cream. I hadn't used it since I was about 13 when it was an unmitigated disaster, leaving me with still very hairy, but now sore and smelly legs. Tried it on a whim a few weeks ago the recipe has most definitely improved in the last 15 years. Got rid of my coarse black leg hair, no irritation, didn't hurt like waxing /épilation, no razor rash, just silky smooth legs for about a week and touch wood, no ingrown hairs yet.

It does still stink to high heaven though.

ihatethecold · 05/01/2020 19:06

those of you buying Korean skin care, where do you get it from?

BangingOn · 05/01/2020 20:42

Originally from Soko Glam and eBay but it’s more widely available now- Look Fantastic, Cult Beauty, ASOS and even Amazon stock some of my favourite brands.
