What really makes a difference?

I have decided that next year I need to really get a hold of myself and make some postage changes with my grooming and beauty. What do you all find really makes a difference? I am 46 and really my routine is shower and E45 cream at the moment but I am thinking I need to make a bit more effort, possibly:
Body brushing
Anti age face cream ( would need to be sensitive)
Night cream?

All ideas welcome

Exfoliating my face and using sunscreen helps to prevent ageing. However as I’ve got older nobody cares what I look like anyway. Once I hit 35 I was basically invisible.

Tretinoin, sunblock and good hydration.

Drinking lots of water. Getting good haircuts and doing your nails.

Exercise. Gives you a bit of a glow and everything being a bit more toned up makes you look better.

Good hair.

Good brows (not slugs)

Tanning drops. I look sallow in all seasons except summer. These give a bit of subtle colour to my skin year round.

Exercise makes the biggest difference b to my looks. Skin, body and “ inner glow”.

My lash extensions make me look much more fresh & I need less makeup to look presentable

@murraythemonk what do you recommend for good brows. I tried threading but the pain made me feel sick so at the moment I do mine with a facial trimmer

I got mine waxed and then tinted (mine are annoyingly naturally overgrown in some places and patchy in others). Then I just pluck with tweezers in between.
The waxing hurts a bit but it's not awful...does make a difference having a professional do them...

Eat well. Lots of veg, as many colours as you can fit on your plate, at every meal. Looking well starts with being well. Plus, all of the above. And sunlight and outdoor exercise. SPF to protect skin.

Comfy shoes - it really does show on your face if they aren't
Cover any bits I want to cover . I really don't want anyone seeing bits of my belly if I reach up for something but my arms are ok (if my armpits are waxed)
Hydration
Accept if I'm walking beside my utterly gorgeous 17yo DD (5'7" size 8 , long hair and legs ) even if she's in Converse and joggers , I am basically invisible .

If I had my time again to look after my hands.

This is my new year resolution too! I'm fed up with my hair as it's been the same for years so I'm looking around for local recommended hairdressers at the minute. My only worry is that the do I like is too high maintenance for everyday as it's shorter and curled and I'm the worst in the mornings especially now I have a new born in tow for the school runs but I guess it doesn't have to be curled everyday.
I also want to take the plunge and get my eye brows done but having never really done this before, I'm nervous in case I end up looking worse.
I need a make over team like in Miss Congeniality to do all this stuff for me every morning GrinGrin

I'm lazy and scruffy and never really look great but of the things I can be bothered to do, the two things that make the most difference are mascara and blusher.

Being a good weight

Sounds like a good diet and investment in some good grooming is needed. I will be 46 in a few weeks and feel (and look) like an old bag at the moment!!
