What to put on my face?

I haven’t worn makeup properly for years (DC 4 & 2) but now I’m starting to feel like I want ‘myself’ back & be more me again.
I don’t want to go back to wearing foundation again necessarily but what can I use to make my skin clearer as I have spots & freckles?
I use Clinique anti blemish moisturiser then mascara at the moment (with some benefit concealer on my spots if needed) so a totally blank canvas needing some sort of routine! Help!

I find that anti-blemish products irritate my skin and make it worse. If you don't think that moisturiser is helping, I'd suggest one that's for sensitive skin not oily, and don't put it on any active breakouts as they'll dry up quicker that way. A tinted moisturiser is a nice way to even out skin tone without being heavy, and is more forgiving than foundation in that you can get away with applying it quickly with your hands. Eyebrows are important, so fill them in with a pencil and add a subtle lipstick and blush for some colour.

Can you recommend any tinted moisturiser @yips ?
I have the benefit gimme more brow (can you tell it’s gone Christmas - few people got me gift sets!) but I never use lipstick or blush so I will start trying it on for work.
I am in a vicious circle where I worry makeup will make my spots worse but I need to look a little more professional & feel better about myself...

If you’re not a lover of foundation you can try not so heavy alternatives such as bare minerals. They have counters in lots of department stores so worth giving them a visit and seeing if you can try the products. A lot of places will have no problem applying products for you to try out, it saves purchasing to find out you don’t actually like it. They’ll also have no problem showing you how to apply at home and giving some tips!

I agree with tinted moisturiser being a good alternative, but if you have spots I wouldn’t apply any products with hands as it can make them worse. I can recommend Laura Mercier Tinted moisturiser I tend to use it on holiday.

If your skin is a little problematic with spots then have a look at some targets skincare that will help with that. A simple regime will help but it is finding the right products which are effective for you. If you don’t wear much make up as it is then it’s important to look at products that are going to look after your skin, you’ll ultimately feel better too. Caroline Hirons is great website to look at for advice with skincare. But don’t worry too much about covering freckles, I always think skin showing through lightweight foundation Is fab!

I’m someone who loves to wear full face everyday, I have business so I work from home but I still put it all on including a red lip, so I think doing whatever makes you feel good is always the best decision!

IT BB cream is great.
Much easier and quicker to use then make up but also good coverage. It's not cheap but last an age. QVC sell it but you can return it and get your money back if your not happy with it. It's well worth a try
