If you were wondering about the dyson Airwrap

I got one for Christmas and so far I absolutely love it.
Lightweight, easy to use and makes my hair look fab.
My hair is fine and shoulder length and inclined to be frizzy but it also made my daughters thick heavy bra length hair gorgeous with curls yesterday
It's early days but definitely worth the £

Is it easy to do on your own ?

user1494670108 · 27/12/2019 07:32

Yes as it's lightweight. I did watch some you tubers which helped

Fab. I really fancy one 👌

caranxy · 27/12/2019 13:53

Just ordered one 👍

florriepeck · 27/12/2019 14:12

I can't seem to get the hang of mine ( long hair, two rows of extensions).
I thought it might make me less dependent on my salon, but no joy so far.

MrsFrostyTheSnowman · 27/12/2019 15:06

Got one at black Friday and love it for straight hair but my curls drop out. I have long thin wavy/ frizzy natural hair
I'll master it though, I'm loving the airwrap

RexDangerVest · 27/12/2019 15:17

Are they on sale or full price?

MrsFrostyTheSnowman · 27/12/2019 15:29

I couldn't get a discount at black Friday, they seem to hold their price

RogueV · 27/12/2019 15:32

Can someone tell me if you can get ‘blow dry’ type shiny hair with it?

I’ve heard it’s pretty poor for curls?

What else can you do with it?

What has everyone paid?

Thanks!

caranxy · 27/12/2019 16:49

Paid 450 on qvc as I can send it back if I don't like it and pay in instalments

PinkSpring · 27/12/2019 16:59

I got one as well, the brush is great for drying from damp but haven't really tried anything else so far.

Don't think they really ever get reduced to be fair

StatisticallyChallenged · 27/12/2019 18:39

I get lovely shiny straight blow dries with mine

bleughhh · 27/12/2019 22:37

Is it worth getting the most expensive one? I have fine frizzy/wavy shoulder length hair...

MaButterface · 28/12/2019 00:38

I love mine. I use the paddle brush the most even though I bought them for the curls. The curls don't last that long on my thin hair, but they give it volume which I like too.
I like it because it's easy to use and a no brainer for someone like me who has no idea what to do with my hair. I go to work with presentable hair everyday now.

MrsFrostyTheSnowman · 28/12/2019 08:41

I think 450 for the complete kit is the norm, it’s what I paid
You can get the smaller sets for 400 but thought I’d rather pay the extra for all attachments
Agree with pp it’s good for volume

WelshMoth · 28/12/2019 08:43

A friend has one and I don't like the tube style curls it creates as opposed to the ringlet or wavy curls she wanted.

RogueV · 28/12/2019 19:42

Oh this is very tempting

Also not fussed about the curls as my hair is naturally curly, thick and frizzy. I’m after the swishy blow dry volume look and maybe smooth curls

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/12/2019 20:16

You can get more wavy curls - alternating direction of sections or twisting the sections first changes the look dramatically. Changing the angle you hold it (more vertical/more horizontal) changes it too.

Twinkle71 · 28/12/2019 20:22

Does it dry your hair out? I’m suffering from too much colour and my hair is a bit dry so not sure if this would make it worse 🤨

itcamefrombeckyvardysaccount · 28/12/2019 20:27

Can you do a curly blow with it?

StatisticallyChallenged · 28/12/2019 20:33

Mine is very dyed (and bleached) and it's improved the condition if anything as I straighten it a lot less. I find it feels a tiny bit dry immediately after I finish (possibly just a contrast to the super silky post ghd feeling) but within a few minutes that's gone and it seems to have improved condition overall.

Yes you can do a curly/wavey blow dry

CaveyWavey · 28/12/2019 20:47

I have both dyson hairdryers. The regular one is amazing. I can blowdry my hair in half the time/a third of the time at a much lower heat. It dries more by the power as opposed to the heat. My naturally wavy hair dries straight from the power so I only use my straighteners on a night out when I want a very straight/sleek look. The condition of my hair has improved dramatically, no more split ends and I've managed to grow it much longer. My DH got me the airwrap for christmas so I haven't had much practice yet. The hairdryer doesn't seem as powerful as the original dyson (although still more powerful than a regular hairdryer) but I love being able to use the different brushes to finish off after half drying it first. The curler does curl and is very easy to use but the curls do not hold for as long as my daughter would have liked. Although I prefer the look as once it drops it gives a wavy look and body instead of tighter curls. We need to practice a bit more, still early days.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 28/12/2019 23:25

Worth getting for very very thick coarse hair that needs a lot of straightening? Does anyone know? Not interested in the curls, no time for that, and would give me crazy hair!

TheoneandObi · 02/01/2020 16:20

I'm struggling with mine tbh. The curls seem to drop out far faster than my GHDs.

IcedPurple · 02/01/2020 19:09

As another one of those people with a drawer full of hair tools which have failed to beautify my super-fine hair for longer than about 5 minutes, I was tempted by the Airwrap. But in the year or so since then, I've read mixed reviews. Some think it's fab, some think it's OK, some think it's crap. And that's not good enough. For 400 quid I want something that's not just OK, but fabulous. I could get a new fridge or washing machine or go on holiday for that money. If it's just going to add to the landfill in my bedroom then it's a 'no' from me.
