Lip fillers for second time

I got 1ml of lip filler back in October and absolutely love my lips! They are very subtle and do not look fake, but have just given me some more volume. However, the nurse who did my filler for me recommended for me to come back within 3 months for a top up as it makes the filler last longer and prevents it dissolving too quickly.

So I've booked in to go back at the beginning of January, but I'm wondering how much filler I should get for the second time?

I don't know if I should go for 1ml again or if it'll look too much as I had 1ml a few months ago, or would 0.5ml be better? I know it'll all be discussed when I go but I was wondering how much others have had on their second time and how it turned out?

I would recommend 0.5ml because the filler might migrate if it’s overfilled, everyone’s different though. I speak from bitter experience.

No point messing around and adding more if you’re happy with the shape though! Just wait until the filler fades.

Also a good clinician will only add as much as you need, whether that’s 0.5ml or 0.2ml! I can’t stress enough that you shouldn’t add more for the sake of it.

@Rachelfromfriends1 thanks for your reply! I'm happy with the shape but would like a little bit more plumpness in my top lip, but not sure if another 1ml will be too much for that! Last time she did 0.5ml for me and after seeing the results I decided to go for the 1ml so I know I could do that again I suppose and see what the 0.5 looks like first

That sounds way too soon to me, I'd give it a good six months or a year at least, IMO it's a sensitive area and you should give it time to settle down!

Ask her to place the filler in your top lip & adjust until you’re happy with the shape first, and then gradually take it from there. You will probably need less than 1ml, but a decent clinician shouldn’t make you feel awkward about using a full syringe up if you don’t want/need it!

It also sounds like filler lasts well in your lips, the first time I had mine done I metabolised the product really quickly!
