@bingowingsmcgee I do spend quite a lot of time on this, so forgive me if I'm a bit long-winded (I hate my very straight hair, btw, and have spent about 35 years trying to get it to hold a wave at the very least).
I wash my hair every other day (could possibly get away with every three days, and occasionally do when BF is away).
My poor hair has had a lifetime of drying, curling, etc, etc. I started to panic when I realised that curling it with straighteners was making it frizzy and split-ended. Hence succumbing to the Airwrap.
I wash my hair then let it dry naturally for a bit. If I'm really pressed for time, I semi-dry it with the Airwrap drying attachment.
I then curl it with one of the smaller curling devices. I bought the complete set, but in practice I only use one. I know they recommend using differently arrowed ones for different sides of your head, but I don't.
I use a Boots heat treatment lotion beforehand, and Lidl hairspray afterwards.
It looks completely fabulous for about five minutes, until I go outside. However, it does at least look as if something has happened to it after that (which, for me, is a miracle).
I used it the other day, and went to my osteopath about 3 hours later (i.e. after the initial me-being-happy period). He said: "I like the glam hair". I know lots of MNers would object to this, but I was happy, and said thank you - not least as it gave me a second opinion (he is a friend, btw, not a random bloke).
I use it on the non-hair-wash days with some multipurpose spray, just to give it a bit of a wave. I have a fringe, to add insult to injury (I look even worse without one - I've tried), and it needs curling under every day. I should really never venture out without a sponge roller in my fringe.
As I said, I spend far too much time thinking about my hair!!
