Anyone disappointed with beauty advent calendars?

First world problem, I know but I have hated the Amazon beauty calendar after loving a couple of years ago. The Elemis one is ok and has a full size marine cream I’m worth £80 but the rest is tiny samples and then the green superfood range which I don’t like.

Anyone else? What was the best one this year?

@PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind I totally agree with you. And this is as someone who absolutely loved the Liberty one a few years' ago when i was having a difficult time and was given it as a gift. I found it quite confusing why they disclosed the contents because it should be a surprise. And now it has sickened me this year, the profusion of beauty gifts and calendars. Mainly because I am sort of addicted to that and find it hard to resist even though rationally I know I need no more.

I had an Occitaine one this year and was v disappointed. Last year was a wonderful selection of products that I really enjoyed. This year has been an endless run of hand cream with the occasional alternative. Not impressed at all.

I had the John Lewis one and dd had a Rituals one.The John Lewis one was nice enough but similar to last year. The rituals one was also good. However, I have told dd that I'm not going to buy them again next year because I realised that there was just far too much packaging, especially on the rituals one.

I really love waking up to a new product each day but I can't justify that much unnecessary waste just for a little perk each morning. So no more calendars for me next year.Sad

I bought the Amazon one (again Confused) mostly because it's not too expensive and easy to get hold of.

This year was very repetitive lots of makeup for eyes and lips in samey colours. One package I had two lip "chubbys" in the same shade and was unsure if it was a mistake or what 🤔 @Holdingtherope ?

Just coming on to say I got my adult Dds the MAC one ( with a discount code). I've usually done a DIY one but time ran away from me this year.

They were v pleased with it. Lots of full size things in usable colours ( twig lippy, mascara, nude lip pencil, gold and taupe eye shadows) and 2 x make up lessons/ make overs. Expensive but nowhere near liberty prices and stuff they'll use. I'd use them all too tbh.

I was so looking forward to the John Lewis one - They seriously need to up their game next year, i don’t consider tiny weeny tubes of cream acceptable when I could just ask at the counter for them. Last year’s was much better; More face creams etc. the perfume was repeated this year too. Disappointing.

I treat myself to one every year, this year I got the Amazon one and am a bit disappointed to be honest. The products are just basic brands and smack of ‘free sample’ to me. Last year I had the M&S one which was fab and introduced a whole host of things I would never have even considered. For 2 consecutive years I had the Boots one which is good value but a bit samey year on year and I fancied a change.

My teen got the superdrug Revolution one which was absolutely fantastic value for money. £25 for a massive stash of makeup, brushes and tools.

They are not for everyone but I like em (Amazon packaging aside)
