Can anyone recommend a good hair curler please?

DD started out saying she wanted one but dithered about choosing one and has now said she's not bothered. I do think she would quite like one but just can't think of which one.

My Mum has given me £60 each for the DC and I have got something for the other two, it would look rubbish if DD just gets cash, so I thought I would go for the hair curler. Any ideas please? DD's hair is very straight and resistant to curling.

Thank you so much in advance!

It depends on what kind of curls she’d like, I have a Remington pearl which is around the £30 mark and it does a really lovely job. I have naturally curly hair tho so I just use it to tidy up the unruly curls. Hopefully someone will come along who has straight hair and can advise as I’m not sure how well it would work on naturally straight hair.

I have the Babyliss Curl Secret which is over your budget I think but really effective. It even curls DD2's ramrod straight hair!

not a ghd. it's exactly the same as cheaper curlers that i've had for YEARS and mine just died this week, i bought it in May and i've used not more than 10 times. luckily they will take it back.

agree with PP it depends what sort of curls she's after but you definitely don't need premium brands to achieve nice curls.

Thanks guys. @Zinnia I had been suggesting the Babyliss one to DD but for some reason she didn't want it - possibly because it is expensive and she was not sure how much she would use it. But after reading your post I looked it up to see how much it really cost (I thought about £80) and John Lewis had reduced it to £59.99 !! Grin I took that as a sign and ordered one.

It is a good present for DD to have from Granny as Granny still perms her hair and puts it in rollers every night. Smile

Mark Hill do a good one where you can change the wands for different effects, easy to use but the wands get very hot!
