Curls that stay

Hope someone can help? I have longish hair, fine hair but lots of it.
It's curls easily, in fact does anything I want it too easily, and looks great. Then within an hour or two it has relaxed to just a slight wave.
Products I have used are usually too heavy for my hair and just cause it to drop even more.
Anyone have any magic answers?
Thanks

I have the same issue. I find curling spray before the curling irn helps me get a good curl but still no guarantee it will stay.

Always wait at least a day after washing it before attempting to curl.

And hairspray that also adds volume seems to help it stick a bit too.

I wonder if curling on top of hairspray or dry shampoo would help...

When you curl it, make the curl tighter than you actually want (think Shirley Temple style) to allow for drooping.

In all honesty, I have naturally curly hair and even that droops through the day. I use a lot of product on my hair to hold the curls, keep them slick and not frizzy. Have you tried something like some mousse through your hair before styling?

I recently read that you shouldn’t condition your hair when planning to curl it. I haven’t tried it myself, but it makes sense it makes the hair softer and less able to grip.

I am a die-hard Curly-Girl-Method girl. Or have been for the last 8 months or so. Have fine hair. Easily weighed down.

I found a few months in my curls were dropping. Lovely and bouncy straight after a was- but within a few hours they had dropped and I looking a bit droopy.

I found out that actually your hair can be over-moisturised. So actually I have reduced how much conditioner I use. Co-washed with conditioner, tiny bit of leave-in conditioner and then my product. Has transformed the curl. Bouncy and stay. Even to the next day (needs a bit of product to de-frizz but the curl is still there).

So maybe that is your problem?

I used to use straighteners to curl my hair and they looked good but dropped almost immediately. Then I bought a curling wand and now the curls are still there the next day.

Trepadora. They’re a small online hair company but their products are amazing. If I didn’t want to out myself I would post a pic of my curls

Thanks everyone. Lots of tips here. Going to work through them until I get perfect long lasting curls
