Which clothing brands are actually made in Britain?

Just that really, I want to start supporting the British made clothing company’s but which are they?
I bought a gorgeous tweed cape from Great Scot on Black Friday which is made in a little village outside Aberdeen.
I need some suggestions please?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Seasalt

quickkimchi · 13/12/2019 23:25

Barbour and Seasalt products are manufactured overseas as well as in the UK.
Celtic and Co have a Made in Great Britain page on their website: www.celticandco.com/made-in-great-britain-products
Wallace Sewell manufacture in Dorset and London: www.wallacesewell.com/our-story

I think newbalance shoes are still made in Cumbria.

FagashJackie · 13/12/2019 23:28

Can you link me your Tweed cape please? I really want one.

Doctor Martens have a "Made in England" range but if you want something similar from a company that is 100% a UK manufacturer try Solovair.

Taddda · 14/12/2019 06:07

Funny, me and MIL were having this conversation yesterday, also wanting to get behind the 'Made in Britain' brands (bought her a Barbour jacket for Christmas but also looking about for other labels)
Thanks for thread op!

Carrier Conpany

Also, Gloverall

A number of brands will have parts of their range, or a specific item made in the UK, some will shout about it and others you won't even notice. I know M&S used to make a lot of their Cashmere in Hawick in Scotland but I'm not sure if they do now.

Brands who traditionally make in the UK (I.e. Barbour, Mulberry) are diversifying their supplier base and not everything is made in the UK anymore.

Customer Service teams are normally very helpful!

John smedley knitwear has been made in the same factory in Derbyshire since 1784! The jumpers are pricey but if you are close enough to Derbyshire for a day out you can get some great bargains at the factory shop.

grannycake · 14/12/2019 07:34

Hiutt jeans are made in West Wales - pricey but brilliant!

ToManderleyAgain · 14/12/2019 07:38

I’ve found a fair bit of Toast knitwear is made in Scotland. I think Brora’s knitwear is mostly British made too although I’m not sure about the rest of their range.

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 14/12/2019 09:01

Country Attire (wax jackets which beat Barbour hands down!). Some Mulberry.

quickkimchi · 16/12/2019 00:45

Corrymoor mohair socks are made in the UK, and dh has ordered a number of scarves and a blanket from Just Wool, which as far as I remember is a chap who dyes and weaves everything himself: justwooltextiles.co.uk/shop?olsPage=products%2Fthe-new-forest-tartan

AwkwardSquad · 16/12/2019 05:13

Some Finisterre stuff is made in the UK, and it’s strong in sustainability as well (and urs great quality) finisterre.com/blogs/factories-of-finisterre
