P.K Elactizier

Do you rate this?

I've fine, coarse, frizzy hair which has just got a whole lot worse with age.
This time of year is dreadful for my hair. Any attempts to look good are ruined the minute I step outside into the damp, wet weather!
I thought about trying the elactizier?
FWIW Oplex did nothing for me ☹️

I tried this for the first two me the other day and liked it. There’s no nasty silicones in it either. It’s still much more convenient to put it in before the shower rather than after. So it’s a yes from me but I haven’t used it long term.

My hair is similar to yours and the thing that’s made the biggest difference is going SLS free. You have to spend a little more but it’s worth it, I try to buy it when it’s on offer. Using Love Beauty and Planet shampoo and conditioner at the mo, the blue one. I try to buy it when it’s on offer in
Sainsbos.

My hair oil does have silicones in it but it goes nowhere near my scalp and it works. It’s the green Macadamia Oil in the brown bottle, they sell it on Amazon.

I love this. I have wild, curly hair that sometimes I let go curly and ehn it gets long I blow dry poker straight. If I want the poker straight look, I always use elastizer first and it works a treat. I've never, weirdly tried it and let my hair be curly.

Also NEVER go out with wet hair in the winter and always have a hood/umbrella just in case.

Girlintheframe · 13/12/2019 09:08

Thanks all!

Will buy the small tube and give it a go.
I'm already silicone free and spend a small fortune on products! I find stuff works initially but then stops being effective!

I have baby fine, frizzy hair and the first couple of times I used the elasticizer it seemed the answer to my prayers.
Then I bought the big tube and it never had the same effect.

It's exactly as you say - stuff works initially then stops being effective!

Hopefully I'm wrong and maybe they've changed ingredients, but I'm pretty sure this stuff isn't silicone free, for those that are looking for that.
I stopped using mine when I went silicone free as it contains amodimethicone which is a silicone.

I love it. After getting it in my M&S calendar last year I grabbed a salon size bottle on the PK site. It was on sale. A year later and there’s still loads left. I reckon I’ll be good for a couple more years.

Rosepetals30 · 13/12/2019 16:46

I don’t like elasticizer
It’s probably worth mention Olaplex works on the inside so you won’t see the benefits massively or quickly, but it’s doing a job no other product can do
Joico KPak is another good product to try

Barbaraanne22 · 13/12/2019 21:08

I've just googled Olaplex. What's the difference between all the numbers? There appears to be numbers 1 - 5.
