I had my colours done 20 years ago at colour me beautiful. I was a light spring.......

Anyway, bit of a long story, but I have to buy a completely new wardrobe from scratch and would obviously like to buy stuff that is in good colours for me and co-ordinates together to make more outfits.

Looking at the colours online, I'm not at all sure I am a light spring and I keep taking different quizzes and getting different answers.

I know I'm not an autumn
other than that Confused

Why not go and get your colours done again? I don’t think any of the online tests are going to convince you!

I think you could be right, but if I get a different choice this time I'm not sure which of the two will be right Confused Smile

I have found Justine Leconte on YouTube helpful. I then take a look a Kettlewell archive catalogues to get some ideas of how to blend colours together see www.kettlewellcolours.co.uk/online-catalogue-archive.

I think there is a company called House of Colour that does colour analysis but at £200 it is not cheap.

What is it about light Spring that isn't working?

SpeckledyHen · 12/12/2019 05:16

House of Colour do a colour re-rate . Do Colour Me Beautiful do the same ?

I think the thing is that as you grow older your colouring can change. Obviously don't know how old you are but as you are referring to 20 years ago, say you were 30 and now 50 , often a lighter colouring suits better as you get older so you may be more of a summer now. Have a look at a website 'pretty your world' this takes you through a quiz which is quite useful for self analysis. Although, having done this myself I'm not sure if I'm a true (cool) summer or a soft summer. I tend to wear cool colours which I think suit me now.

A good test can be what kind of red you can wear.

On Facebook. Styled by susie. You can get colours done and advice on how to dress for your shape for £30. I’m a spring hourglass

I recently went here chromology.co.uk/
and thought it was brilliant. She spends a long time comparing and contrasting each season so by the time you have narrowed it down to the final pallet you know for sure it’s the right one. No guess work based on your hair or eye colour, but looking very closely at how the colour changes how your skin and eyes appear.

For reference 20 years ago Colour me Beautiful told me I’m a summer. I now now I’m a True Winter. It’s made such a difference. Even just going to work next day with a winter lipstick and no other changes people were trying to work out why I looked better.

If possible, post a pic. If not, describe your colouring, including eye colour and natural hair colour too.

Your season won’t change as you get older. But you will likely change, ie from a jewel winter to a burnished winter for example. You should be able to see if you’ve got the right season. A good starting point is to compare white and cream on you. Cool vs warm. Then brights vs muted.
