Is shampoo for brunette hair a thing still?

I want to buy some for my dsis for Christmas.

Is it still thought of as good to buy shampoo specifically for different hair colours?

My dsis has her hair coloured with permanent hair dye and it is dark brunette. Has anyone got any recommendations? I think she'd like something a bit luxurious!

Apparently you can get blue shampoos that help stop red tones in brunette hair

brunette shampoo

Lee Stafford fo a range - blinding brunette, and also the John Frieda one that's already been linked. OGX if she likes sulphate free/organic Tbh though I don't think either are anything special though, just bog standard shampoo really, albeit perfectly nice!

The blue shampoos are designed to take the orange tones out of brunette hair and make them cooler so it depends whether she would want that; also they are a bit of a pain as the ones I've tried do stain the bath if you aren't careful.

A lot of the shampoos for brunette hair are colour depositing, I'd consider just going with a nice set for coloured hair from a luxury brand such as Kerastase, aesop, aveda, Moroccanoil, Philip Kingsley etc if you're after a bit of luxury. Or perhaps a treatment, mask or hair oil from one of the above. Websites like cult beauty, lookfantastic, essential or boots should have plenty of gift sets too at this time of year.

I agree with pp - get a luxury brand that doesn't use sulphates etc. I also really like Davines.

If you really want to push the boat out Oribe.

I love Aveda clove shampoo and conditioner for brown hair. Smells amazing!

But it is expensive!

John Frieda does a brunette shampoo.
I recently bought olaplex shampoo and conditioner it was expensive but my hair (brunette) is in the best condition ever after using it.

Another one here for Aveda shampoo
I am brunette with a few highlights and I use Aveda blue Malva . It s £48 for a litre and lasts me about a year. It's gorgeous and smells like cherry Bakewells. Which is a bonus.
It comes in different colour strengths.
I can't recommend it enough
