Moisturiser for dry sensitive skin

I’m looking for the holy grail of moisturisers - does it exist?

I prefer creams without too many irritating chemicals as I end up itchy and sore. I’ve tried various creams and as and we go into winter and cold windy weather my skin is feeling dry and a bit sore. Anyone got any suggestions, please

I'd also be interested - looking for the above, but must be cruelty free.

At the moment I’m using Liz Earle oil with Nivea soft on top and keeping the winter face flakes at bay. I know you didn’t ask for an oil but combining the two is a game changer.

When I was pregnant my skin was the driest it’s ever been and in desperation I slathered Weleda skin food, which I usually use on my feet, on my face and it worked very well.

La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Creme is what you need! Was recommended to me by a dermatologist and is the only thing that keeps my poor dry skin hydrated.

I've ended up making my own combo of coconut oil, Shea butter and beeswax. First winter my face isn't hurting me.

Thanks for replying. I got a flare up with Liz Earle and I react to beeswax, so they're out, sorry I'll check out the others

Neals Yard Frankinsense is good. My skin is like sandpaper on my forehead, and I've got dry cheeks and chin too. I wear it at night. A very good and kind friend bought me the Espa cleansing kit with serum and moisturiser which is the most blissfully amazing product I've ever had..... but I think it's very very expensive to buy.

Cera Ve , I have very badly damaged skin on my arms and legs due to my steroid intake ( oral and inhaled) and it’s brilliant and I generally react to most things .

The only thing that keeps my skin happy in winter is clarins multiactive day cream for dry/sensitive skin. Haven't found anything less £££ that will keep my skin soft enough and not sore.

ViveLEntenteCordiale · 05/12/2019 23:42

I like the Neal's Yard Frankincense too - not sure of the ingredients though. They do a hydrating cream for normal-dry skin and a nourishing cream for dry skin... not quite sure how they describe them but anyway the nourishing cream is thicker and oilier.

Try cerave. I love the stuff.

I have awfully dry hands this time of year due to dermatitis and I SWEAR by Mixa SOS repair cream! It's very concentrated and feels lovely.
The whole Mixa range is for sensitive skin so has no perfumes or dyes :)

The Dr Organic olive oil cream from Holland & Barrett is very nice, moisturises without feeling heavy or greasy.

Not sure how many of the above are cruelty free though
