Oh my GOD I need emergency treatment on massive cystic zit that's literally just appeared on my chin - important event tomorrow night!

As the title says.

I've just glanced in the mirror and seen a huge cystic spot on my chin. I mean HUGE I get these every now and then (much much better since I've stopped dairy) but why oh why oh why does this one have to appear now? I have an important work event tomorrow night, meeting new clients, and I just want it to GO AWAY.

Any spot-zappers that really work on reducing these huge boil-like MOFOs? I can dash to boots, superdrug, even Space NK at lunchtime.

I don't want anything that dries too much as then I will just have a scaly dry patch to cover up around a still-fairly-large boil if I'm not careful; my skin is very sensitive.

I've no idea how I didn't get any warning, it must have lurked overnight and then popped up a couple of hours ago but I have no idea why it's so huge this early! It's shiny and red too and looks awful :(

These are supposed to be good. Not cheap though! www.boots.com/zitsticka-killa-spot-clarifying-patch-kit-10263757

The spot patches are good even if just to stop I’ll touching. Realistically though it’s not going to have gone by tomorrow so I really recommend these tips . I feel your pain!

HepburnKNotA · 04/12/2019 11:32

Thank you!! I would fork out for those Gin but just checked and my Boots doesn’t have them... I may need to buy powder and just focus on covering up... my skin is so swollen round the zit though, I’m not sure anything will cover it Sad Blooming typical! Might just have to find the darkest corner of the room tomorrow!!

You need a cream with zinc in it.
Ask the pharmacist but sudocrem is loaded with it and you can keep using a cotton bud to dab it on.
Leave it so you don't rub it in totally.
As an emergency you could use hydrocortisone cream , again with a cotton bud but make sure it's totally absorbed.
DO NOT put the hydrocortisone on your face , except the localised area of the spot.
Also you can buy special hydrocoloid (so) round , clear plasters .
Also sulphur cream and soap are great.
I cured my 12 year long battle with bad rosacea using zinc and sulphur.
I'd did a sudacreme face mask for an hour a day, then gently rub in the sulphur cream and in a week I had no spots or redness.
Not had a spot since.

You can buy the spot plasters in Tesco or Asda in the skincare aisle

Oh good old sudacreme... hadn’t thought of that, it’s zinc oxide right??!

I find Sudacrem is definitely the answer. It’s very satisfying as it draws out the pus. It doesn’t necessarily drain it all but it certainly helps - and reduces redness. My dds are in their teens and I didn’t ever think I’d still be using it on them - and myself - in 2019!

MzPumpkinPie · 04/12/2019 11:57

Yes, works a treat.
If I was you I'd be dabbing on the hydrocortisone every hour and then putting a thick layer of sudo on top.
Seriously I tried every drug, lotion and potion the very expensive dermatologist threw at me to cure my acne rosacea and then after lots of research the simplest , cheapest things worked and I've been free of the evil spots since.
Rose hip oil is very good for spot prone skin too.
That would stop any drying after using the sudocreme.

The johnsons clean and clear moisturizer, sounds odd. Applied to s spot very thickly? Leave until it absorbs. Dries them out very quickly and gets rid.( full of salicylic acid) Had to do it myself with hormonal spots all over my chin. Really works though
