Dermaplaning - can anyone share their experience?

I have a particularly fuzzy face. Nothing wax worthy, just peach fuzz. I'm getting married in 2 weeks so considering having this done but I'm scared it'll give me a breakout. Would that be likely to happen?
Would anyone who's had it done share their experiences with it?

I just do mine myself? Nothing happens except the fuzz is gone?

The new veet dermaplaning thingy is really good would really recommend it and I’m super self conscious about the hair on my face even though it is ‘only’ blonde

Pipandmum · 03/12/2019 21:51

I've had it. It doesn't just take off the fuzz but a layer of dead skin, making your face more sensitive to lotions. I didn't break out or anything and it felt very smooth. But it doesn't last long - feel a bit of regrowth within days (if you have the odd dark hair).
I am having it done before I go on holiday, but it isn't as nice a process as a regular facial - no massage etc (at least with my beauty therapist), so I'd only get it done on occasion.

I have highly sensitive skin, I get dermaplaning done semi regularly (I go 6 months or so between) where I go does your neck and a mini peel too and I came out in a huge rash the first time. It was gone in 20 mins.
Ive recommended it to a friend who has active acne, she had a massive breakout after so I suppose it depends on your skin type?

Longhairdonotcare · 03/12/2019 23:35

I’ve had it several times and it’s been brilliant. No rash and no redness. Your makeup goes on brilliantly afterwards, I couldn’t believe the difference it made.

Is it not just shaving? I'm too scared I'll end up with a beard.

BeginningToLookLikeChristmas · 04/12/2019 01:10

I love it! No side effects and I have sensitive skin

MarleneandBoycie · 04/12/2019 03:08

Why would you end up with a beard even if you did shave TheGoldenNotebook?

Lifeaback · 04/12/2019 10:33

It makes your skin more sensitive to products after- the first time I had it done she put a face mask on which was too harsh for my skin and I went a bit red and blotchy but that calmed down within a day or so. I’m a huge advocate for it and now do it regularly at home, it makes makeup look so much smoother and ‘glowier’ so great for your wedding

dontgobaconmyheart · 04/12/2019 11:12

Its really no big deal- I just do it at home with cheap Korean facial razors (they aren't sharp). Am prone to breakouts but it's never caused any. I think you just need to go gently and not ne at all abrasive on the skin.

I'd only avoid if you're prone to folliculitis or shaving rash and wouldn't ever do it on acne anyway Confused or any aggravated skin.

Shitonthebloodything · 04/12/2019 13:39

I have some of those little razor things so I might actually have a go myself tonight so I can trial my makeup then get my friend who dies it properly to give it a little go over a couple of days before. Would that be a bad plan?

Don't do anything new so close to your wedding. There's enough stress at a time like that without being worried about your skin, facial hair regrowth, etc. I would stick to your usual routine and try something new in the new year.

Ladybirdbookworm · 04/12/2019 18:19

I had it done professionally for the first time last week. I've always just done it at home myself but now I am hooked.
I've booked for another in 4 weeks time. I love the difference it's made.
She also did around my eyebrows which means I don't have to have them threaded this month.
