As always happens after a weekend where my photo has been taken a lot, I am sat feeling rubbish about how I look. There's a few things I need to change, but my hair is a good place to start I think. I realise it's hard to say what would suit me without seeing my face, but at least you can see what I have to work with!

Mousy blonde hair (goes very light in summer and is currently still quite light framing my face), not thick but lots of it. I follow the CGM at the moment which leaves it wavy like this, or I blow dry it straight ish and the ends tend to curl themselves. Can never really decide on what length is best, it's normally somewhere between Bob length and just past shoulder length and I'm never really happy with any of them! It never really looks good grown much more than this though - the ends tend to just get thinner and thinner.

I am reluctant to get it coloured, I like my natural colour in the sunnier months, and it generally looks a shade or so lighter if it's been blow dried rather than left wavy, but if you all thinks it's horrible I'll think again Grin

Should I be going shorter? Longer? More layered? Stick with wavy or blow dry it more? (I wash it once a week so not exactly someone who is going to spend hours on my hair every day!)

It’s beautiful. Nothing constructive to say

FeltCarrot · 01/12/2019 19:08

I’m jealous. You have beautiful hair.

Phoenix76 · 01/12/2019 19:12

I agree with the others, beautiful hair

astralweaks · 01/12/2019 19:15

It looks a bit stringy. Perhaps you need to go very short.

MikeUniformMike · 01/12/2019 19:17

It's nice. Don't cut it.

whiskyremorse · 01/12/2019 19:17

Have you thought of going to a curly expert hairdresser? Your curls are lovely but end in a wedge which isn't the most flattering. Have a look at Vicky Queen of Curls on insta and Facebook for inspiration as to getting a good curly shape

desperatehousewife2 · 01/12/2019 19:18

I would kill to have your hair. Do nothing, it’s beautiful the way it is

EvenFlo2 · 01/12/2019 19:19

Your hair is gorgeous!

FrederickSinclair · 01/12/2019 19:25

whisky I'd love to have it cut by a curly expert but I live quite rurally and I think my nearest one is 1.5 hours away Sad I've just looked up Vicky and there are some lovely cuts on there. The silver Bob is beautiful

Thank you all for being so kind.

If you can't get to a curly expert then buy the curly girl handbook, there is advice about looking after and cutting your own hair. There is a second book about transitioning to natural grey,...

BloodyCats · 01/12/2019 19:38

Sorry but I think your hair is lovely!
Would be nice in an auburn colour.

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 01/12/2019 19:43

Leave the colour, it's lovely. If I were you I'd grow it another couple of inches and roll with it.

What I can tell you without any doubt is that you have beautiful hair. My best advice is to relax and learn to appreciate it. If you don't do that now, I guarantee you'll look back and wonder why on earth you didn't realize.

MarleneandBoycie · 01/12/2019 19:50

I think that type of hair needs washing more than once a week really. Despite the fact you say there is a lot of it, it looks really lifeless and a bit limp (which is odd for wavy hair) maybe some more layers would help?

SugarThreat · 01/12/2019 19:55

I really like your hair. It is much fuller at the bottom though so I might consider getting some layers - im no expert on curly hair, but I think a slightly different shape is all it would need. It's very lovely.

Eggies · 01/12/2019 21:18

You have beautiful hair!!!

I agree with Pp who said just get some layers put in to give it a bit more shape. Maybe get the back slightly shorter than the front too. But honestly your hair is gorgeous!

FrederickSinclair · 02/12/2019 14:20

I think layers are a good idea. My hairdresser always seems a bit scared of layering hair that's not straight but I shall be more firm! The back is already shorter than the front at the mo but hard to tell on photo as I have a big scarf underneath it

I'd also go a little bit shorter, but not super short. Maybe just a few inches off it?

I think you and I have similar hair, but mine is damaged after years of daily straightening, so I've had to go very short. Shorter than I'd like. I'm growing it out, but only to off the shoulder length as mine goes a bit stringy after that.

BeatriceTheBeast · 02/12/2019 14:32

I'm aiming for this length, but not straightened like that! I have learnt my lesson the hard way. I might get a kerastraight treatment once it is approaching this length.
