Frizzy hair help

Evening everyone, I’m really hoping you can help me with this issue.

Thanks to this topic area, I have recently purchased the babyliss big hair and I love it.

I dry my hair and then put anti-frizz serum through it. It looks quite good when it’s done, a bit more practice but getting there.

The problem is by the time I get to work it looks like I didn’t even bother to brush it and is just a frizzy mess. I’ve tried adding more serum but it then looks greasy.

I’ve tried you tube and google and am out of ideas.

I have always worn my hair up in a ponytail due to this issue but would like to wear it down more.

It’s just below my shoulders and quite thin if that helps. A tiny bit of natural wave but not a lot.

The straighteners work but the poker straight look just doesn’t suit me really.

Here’s hoping I may be able to wear my hair down for the Christmas parties this year

Thanks x

I tried many things to solve my frizzy hair. Eventually I stopped using shampoo and that did the trick. Just water and a bit of conditioner seemed to keep the natural oils in and the frizzy away.

I wouldn’t have thought of trying that, I’ll give it a go, thanks

Ive got thick curly frizzy hair, I’d be willing to bet your hair is not properly dry when you finishing styling it & that’s why it frizzes up. When ever I have mine dried I have to ask them to do an extra 5 minutes because even though they think it’s dry it’s not properly dry & will frizz

The curlier hair is the more oils need to be put back into it. And vice Versa. Have you looked at a curly hair chart so you can see how curly it is and specifically Taylor your routine. I'd try using a hydrating conditioner, then putting either serum or oil on when wet. Dry with a tshirt not a towel as towels create static and frizz. Maybe buy a diffuser off of amazon for a 5er that'll click onto your hairdryer

Keratin treatments are the only thing that has ever worked for me - I haven't looked back and no longer bother with any of the lotions and potions that claim to help with frizz, as none of them work.

Thanks, there’s some great ideas here.

Just when I thought I’d nail the hair, I’ve suddenly realised it turns into a frizzy mess but baby steps.

I can go and try some of these and try and make even further progress. It would be lovely to not always have my hair up

Have a keratin blow dry. It will help.

Southeast15 · 30/11/2019 21:05

Is the keratin blow dry done at the hairdressers?

Are there keratin products to use or try in between my hair appointments?

Put the serum on your hair before you dry it, not after!! You have to make sure it is absolutely 110% bone dry before you go out otherwise it will frizz up. Putting serum on dry hair is just putting moisture back in it, which is probably causing it to frizz up.

You can get the big bouncy blow dry look with straighteners. You have to do it section by section and lift and curl the straighteners in the same motion you would use as blow drying with a large round brush.

Redken Frizz Dismiss ,massive tube for about £12. I have to say BBH always looks fabulous for half an hour after I've done it then just looks like I haven't bothered.
