Hello.I'm posting this on behalf of my sister in law.She will be travelling abroad with her two year old boy who only drinks a certain milk as he is sensitive to regular cows milk. How would you pack this in to the suitcase so that its protected even if the suitcase is handled roughly?

You might be best re-posting this (or asking MN to move it to) a parenting thread...
Anyway surely it will depend on several variables, eg the packaging it comes in, whether it needs refrigeration.
Can she not obtain this milk in the destination country?
She should really ask this question of her airline, I can't believe it's never come up before. They will have guidance/ a policy.

Is it possible for her to order it into an airport shop to collect and take in hand luggage?

What milk is it? Where are they going?

I’ve been to Europe with kids who can’t have cows milk and they have plenty available in the supermarkets. I put one carton in the suitcase in the middle for the first day but that’s it.

They will surely sell dairy alternative milk where they are going? How much milk does a two year old need ?

LilyPinkNoah · 27/11/2019 22:11

Is it liquid or powder? If powder then case is fine.

Is it prescription? If prescription you might be able to pick up from Boots in the airport

@anothernamejeeves her two year old has been off his food for a while and because they are going away she is worried that if he doesn't eat there, that way atleast he will still have his milk.

Apart from trying to source it there, if it is long life milk which doesn’t need to be refrigerated and she is checking it the suitcase then she can bag the milk in plastic then use strong tape (packaging) all around the lid area and then bag again and put amongst clothes.
She could also try to buy on line and get it delivered to that place.
But yes, you can pack it in a case, just bag it all well in case it breaks open.

Why is this on style and beauty? You could ask for it to be moved so you get more help?

ChaiNashta · 27/11/2019 22:24

I put it in DC's Trunki (a hard plastic kid's suitcase used for hand luggage) but the milk taken out to be was scanned first at the airport then put back in the case.
