What has made the biggest difference to your skin texture?

I’ve always had sensitive acne-probe skin but been able to manage it with a varying combination of LRP products/oil cleanse/glycolic.

Over the past year I’ve had a nightmare with a facial rash which I now think was a PPD allergy from my hair colour (highlights and darker blonde), following patch testing.

It’s just about under control now but it seems to have left the texture of my skin very uneven and rough, with tiny bumps under the surface. Has anyone got any bright ideas? Chemical exfoliants don’t seem to make a difference to this, and what my LRP Cicaplast and Neal’s Yard facial oil leave my skin fairly soft, I still have the weird texture issue.

Neither Differin nor retinol seems to make much difference either. Help!!

What’s LRP and PPD??

Not the same problem, but I have rosacea and sensitive skin. I used sun cream on my face and it gave me blotchy spots. I tried fresh farmacy soap from lush and I've never gone back. Cleared the spots and has stopped all blemishes. It's not too drying but it's great for oily skin. I guess you'll need to choose a moisturiser carefully, but I manage with Garnier BB tinted moisturiser.

LRP = La Roche Posay

PPD = P-phenylenediamine (the thing in hair colourants that people who pop up with puffy sad faces in the Daily Mail are allergic to! Not that I have that reaction, mercifully)

FOREO facials and all the 'my perfect' range have given me good skin for the first time in my life.

Liquid gold, makes my skin feel really smooth, I only use it twice a week at the moment.

Sammi38 · 26/11/2019 15:59

And eve lom moisturiser.

SouthWestmom · 26/11/2019 16:00

Cheap thick blue Nivea! Ditched everything (sometimes use some Clarins) and use it for cleansing and moisturising. Amazing stuff.

LIHA ose gidi soap, it makes my skin baby soft. I use it like a mask and let it dry before taking off with a muslin and cold water.

slinkysaluki · 26/11/2019 17:20

Paulas Choice BHA toner

slinkysaluki · 26/11/2019 17:21

And tretinoin

I've got bumpy skin it's hard to describe, a bit orange peely and a bit bumpy. Hylauronic acids and retinols have helped a bit plus decent sunscreen. I use a 3 in one serum from Amazon (pic) which is nice under moisturiser. Sunscreen makes a lot of difference.
