Considering getting one of these as I rarely iron and probably should.
Are they any good?

Sounds like a good idea. Will be interested to see what the responses are

i've used them loads at work
& much prefer them to irons. they are quite bulky though

I have one and much prefer it to ironing. I use a clothes rail on wheels to hang the clothes on as I steam. Usually shirts/blouses. Don't steam much else.

I have a little handheld steamer that I use every day, I rarely bother ironing nowadays. It's especially good for silky tops, the creases just fall out. Things like heavy cotton t shirts/shirts still need ironing though but my steamer might just not be heavy duty enough.

Fabulous for fabrics that are difficult to iron - silky/satiny and woollens

Thanks. I was hoping it may help DH with his shirts but it sounds like maybe not.

legoiseverywhere · 22/11/2019 16:11

for not got

PeachMelba78 · 22/11/2019 16:13

They are great for things that need to get the creases out of them but I would have thought that shirts would need to be ironed to get the crease down the sleeve. I love my steamer, it’s so much faster than ironing and gives a better finish to my clothes.

Chillichutney1 · 22/11/2019 21:16

This sounds great, can anyone recommend any models they have and like?

I have this. I wear very causal clothing, so I just use it for tops buts it’s great !

Mind and hang stuff after steaming to let it dry before putting back in a full wardrobe as it will smell of damp otherwise. So if doing a lot you may want to have a rail or something to hang them all on or a half empty wardrobe with plenty room between the clothes and the doors wide open to let the damp evaporate.
