Does anyone know what these spots are?

Theyve been appearing for two weeks now. Random times of the day, sometimes I wake up with them. They only last for twenty four or forty eight hours and then go.

They start as red puffy lumps then go down and form a head. Theyre very sore to touch.

I dont have acne, rosacea, scoriasis or any other skin condition.

I havent changed my skin routine or products although i have stopped using retinol and vitamin c as i suspected this was causing it but Ive seen no improvement for ten days.

I only get them around my eyes. On my upper lid crease and underneath my lower lid.

Ive sterilised all my brushes/sponges.

Do I need to chuck my make-up away?

I wore no make up yesterday but I developed two by night time.
Confused

They look like Millia, but I've never heard of them hurting - sorry no help

They look like blocked pores to me. Maybe you should check to see if your makeup / moisturiser is comedogenic ( ie it blocks your pores) . I was getting spots just like this on my forehead, so I checked and sure enough, my moisturiser was comedogenic. I changed and the spots went away.

They look like milia to me. I've been getting them occasionally since my mid 40s.

From what I've read online, milia are different from normal spots as they aren't the result of a blocked pore, but are actually under the skin, so there is no gentle way of squeezing them out.

I have managed to remove some myself, using a sterilised needle, but that might not be a great idea if they're near the eye.

I've seen beauty salons advertising milia removal but haven't tried that myself.

Just re-read your OP and saw that yours have disappeared after a day or two, so probably best just to leave them. They're annoying, but I'm not sure what can be done to prevent them, sorry!

Yes it’s weird isnt it.

Ive Googled, as you do, and seen all sorts of things that look similar but nothing matches.

I dont think theyre milia as they go almost overnight. Theyre on my upper eyelids, lower lids, under eyes etc. but not around the lash line like a stye.

When they appear, theyre almost like a flea bite, very red, itchy and sore but with no head.
