Where to buy great glasses?

I've just started wearing glasses for reading and screens. But I see some great statement glasses on people and have no idea where to start looking for a pair for me. My local optician is nice but doesn't have much choice. Where next?

Best I've found are through hunting down quirky independent places .
Specsavers are ok but you won't get anything original as everyone's got them
Worth spending a bit of money on really nice glasses if you'll be wearing them often

I'm a fan of Bailey Nelson - like Ollie & Quinn (they're linked somehow but not sure I'm what way - previous management possibly?) and Ace & Tate they all specialise I'm cheap, fashion-led, frames and mostly sell online with some boutiques in London. My regular glasses are Bailey Nelson and I got some fab prescription sunglasses there in the summer.

I now work near a Cubitt's and am keen to check them out as could do with some back-up specs. Their styles look very promising.

Argh in cheap, fashion-led frames...

Another ace and Tate fan.

Cubitts are great if you're new to glasses because you can order up to three frames to try at home for a week before buying. Send them back and order another three if you want until you find the right pair. I have a really strong and complicated prescription, so wouldn't get them to fit the lenses, but for reading glasses if your prescription isn't too strong you should be fine to get them to do the whole thing. Otherwise you can just buy the frames although some opticians are sniffy about fitting lenses into other frames in case they break, but they will do it.
