Anyone know what their sizing is like please? I'm a 12 and fairly sure I usually buy a European size 40, but in the dress I'm looking at it says "model wears a size 36/UK10" which implies to me I need a 38. I'm confused!

I’m a U.K. 10 and wear 36 in Cos, which is the same company. I tend to buy tops/knitwear from OS and always get S.

I"m sure that their 42 equates to a 14?
Depending on your figure, I think they don't vanity size as much as many brands, so if you're erring between sizes maybe go bigger? (meaning i can fit 14 in many shops, but not usually in there! Grin)

(this advice doesn't apply to intentionally oversized jumpers, coats etc, as they can be big)

Thanks both. As it happens one of the dresses I wanted was only available in a 38 and the other one in a 40 so I've ordered both, be interesting to see what fits! It's a bit like they have 2 sizes in between 10 and 14, very strange...

COS and & Other Stories use Scandinavian sizing (ie 36 = 10/ 38 = 12 etc) as opposed to French/ "standard" European sizing where 38 = 10/ 40 = 12. H&M used to use this too but not sure what they're doing now they've "revised" their sizes. None of the EU sizes map exactly into UK ones, so it will vary from shop to shop.

I always find &OS comes up a little smaller than COS but only about half a size, so if in doubt in &OS, size up.
