Where to buy suit for tall, skinny teen DS?

Just as the title really. DS(17) would like a suit for Christmas. He is 26l in trousers but I can't find this anywhere in suits so would settle for 28l and lots of Christmas chocolate and a 34 jacket.
Please can anyone suggest some shops?

My DH is tall and skinny and likes the m and s slim fit suits. They have a variety of lengths and you can put them in the washing machine!

Thanks @MadamBuxton I'll look at next now.
Thanks @Peeeas I did try m&s but the search facility is rubbish and I couldn't narrow by size etc. I'll have another look.

My tall skinny boys have both had suits from Top Man and River Island.

Another question then from one who is sartorially challenged. What colour? He has no preference (really doesn't care what he wears usually) is charcoal too school like? Navy didn't suit his colouring.

DH has one from HoF. He is also tall and skinny. His is grey and it doesn't look like school wear, but then DH is in his mid thirties! I think the right shape of suit wouldn't look like school uniform, regardless of colour. He could wear a shirt which isn't white, which might help too Halloween Smile.

One of John Lewis's own brand called Kin are very good for tall and skinny.

zazasabore · 13/11/2019 09:24

I have tall skinny sons - one is 6' 10" and the other 6' 5". Just got the taller one a suit for his first job from 2Tall.com which has clothes extra long not extra wide like many of the tall mens sites - more for the slim and athletic build.

moreismore · 13/11/2019 09:26

I would second river island. I really like a good strong blue, not navy but brighter. Look really good.

sergeantmajor · 13/11/2019 11:06

ASOS and Top Man

Whitejotter · 13/11/2019 12:57

River Island. As it was for sixth form we opted for black, so we could replace the jacket or trousers as he grew.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 13/11/2019 12:59

Zara runs very slim.

Was also going to say Topman or john Lewis

a lot depends on if he wants trendy fashion or more traditional?

Moss Bros also have a wide selection

Peeeas · 13/11/2019 18:36

Would suggest going into a big m and s and trying stuff - they tend to have lots of sizes in stock. I wouldn't go to Topman / river island if you're after longevity - they don't wear well ime. I'd go for navy or mid grey with a bit of texture to the fabric - something about a fabric that's not too 'flat', tends to look better quality.

WisestIsShe · 13/11/2019 21:28

Thanks so for the suggestions. We have a giant m&s quite near so I'll try and persuade him to come for a look around. I think he wants more smart and traditional than trendy and going out.

Try Red Herring at Debenhams, slim fitted and reasonably priced.

Canyousewcushions · 13/11/2019 22:30

Next clearance and M&S clearance can be great for suits in these sorts of shapes- my DH has picked up 100% wool autograph range suits for £30- 1 jacket and 2 pairs of trousers in that!! Less choice but more Christmas money to spend elsewhere Grin

Canyousewcushions · 13/11/2019 22:32

The other thing to look at is getting the trousers altered if the 28l is too wide- it costs surprisingly little to have done and it's hard to see where they've made changes on the pairs my DH had taken in.

My DS is tall and thin, we got him a suit from Top Man .

I love M&S but when we took him in there are tried a few of the jackets on him then sent him into the fitting room to try the whole suit . The sales man was really rude to DS , grabbed the back of the jacket and hoiked in the sides and said really snottily "Oh that doesn't fit him, it looks awful "

Instead of saying " If you wait I'll find something that will suit your frame better"

They are there to help, not to belittle a teenager .

I told DS to put the clothes on the peg and leave and resisted the temptation to tell the salesman to stick his suit and his attitude right up his arse .
