Rough dry feet product recommendations

I've been using nivea in the blue tub on them but they're still really rough and dry. I used a foot file but the smoothness doesn't last.

Liberally rub in Vaseline and leave overnight.

Or if in really bad condition apply a foot heel creme ( a few good ones on amazon) then Vaseline over the top and overnight. Two or three nights of this and you should be babysoft again!

A foot cream with urea in it eg cracked heel balm. Softens then up no end.

Drum2018 · 12/11/2019 16:42

I find Sanctuary Spa Heel Balm great. Boots should have it.

RainWoman19 · 12/11/2019 17:34

O'Keeffee's Healthy Feet foot cream. Brilliant stuff. Its about £9 and it works on extremely dry and cracked feet.

Span1elsRock · 12/11/2019 17:37

From tips on here, I've discovered Newtons chiropody sponges. You use them wet in the shower/bath and they are incredible. Use these, then liberally apply a urea lotion (like Flexitol or Euceryin) and leave thin cotton socks on overnight. In a few days, you'll have soft feet.

Footner Wink

WillYouDoTheFandango · 12/11/2019 17:44

I found this was really good. I used it for about 5 days to get rid of the callouses and then switched to their normal foot care cream. I was very impressed.

CCS Plus Heel Balm

Fishcakey · 12/11/2019 17:50

Flexitol every night. It's brilliant.

eatsleepmoverepeat · 12/11/2019 18:02

Footner to get all of the crap off then maintain with any of the creams recommended

Ohdeariedear · 12/11/2019 18:10

My feet were horrific for years and what them was

the cheap version of footner that you can get in b&m
battery powered foot file
flexitol

(Also, may or may not be connected but I had chronically bad iron levels and since I got that fixed my feet have been much nicer)

Lottiebugz22 · 12/11/2019 18:59

Oh that's interesting about the iron levels and I'm always tired and I keep ringing for an appointment at the docs but they get snapped in within 5 mins!!

Keep trying Lottie - so many things that I had put down to ‘age’ and getting unfit have vanished since I got my iron levels back to normal. The gynae consultant that I saw was surprised I was still upright given how low my level was. 🤣 Anyway, a small list of my things that are now resolved are: constant tiredness, falling asleep anywhere, out of puff at the top of the stairs, not being able to walk up the slightest incline, thinning hair, dry cracked feet, bad temper, constant cold/runny nose, flaky nails - all magically resolved after three months of mega iron tablets. It genuinely feels like an actual miracle.

Anyway, back to feet...

Lottiebugz22 · 12/11/2019 21:59

Oh wow I've had constant colds as well and I'm overly emotional haha x

I like CCS foot cream.
Apply at night ( or during the day if you're not going out), and put cotton socks on top so it won't rub off.

florriepeck · 13/11/2019 10:10

The blue tub Nivea is a general purpose moisturiser, and probably isn't up to the job of treating very dry feet.

Lottiebugz22 · 13/11/2019 11:27

Thanks everyone

CCS cream the more expensive of the two

ladybee28 · 13/11/2019 17:52

A friend of mine swears by those 'Baby Foot' chemical peel sock things that make all the dry skin peel off over a few weeks. (Google it, but be aware that the videos are pretty gross!)

They look equal parts terrifying and utterly amazing!

CoffeeBeansGalore · 13/11/2019 20:28

Believe it or not Neutrogena hand cream worked wonders on my dh's feet! I use it on my hands all the time & now on my feet if they start getting rough.

theoriginalmadambee · 13/11/2019 20:45

For rough feet use this footbath:
1/4 cup listerine
1/4 cup vinegar
1/2 cup warm/hot water (I use more water)
Soak for 15-20 min. Rub your feet in a towel thoroughly. If still a little rough use file.

Beware filing your skin cause it to react by making even more thick skin.

Before bed apply camphor cream in a thick layer and wear socks. Use as often as necessary.
