Glossier makeup

I've seen this advertised on facebook and really love the more minamalist look. Has anyone tried their products before? So much stuff advertised on facebook is a rip off and my eyes did water at the price.

Or if anyone has any tips for achieving a similar look with other products? I've got quite an oily t zone area so bb creams can make this even worse.

I’ve tried a few of their things. Very hit and miss with no middle ground.

Boybrow is really great. Lip gloss is pretty good. Wasn’t impressed by Generation G lipstick- texture was hard and colour was weak. Was very disappointed by Brow Flick- time consuming, fiddly ineffective and just not pigmented enough.

Having had a couple of real duds from them, I’m not minded to try anything else really, as the stuff isn’t cheap. And it wasn’t that they were a bit meh, they really not good at all to the point of unusable, total waste.

But Boybrow is really great.

Ere Perez is a good alternative for products with a minimalist, natural effect. It’s not cheap either but I’ve never had a dud thing from them.

i am highly impressed with Generation G lipstick (though it looks like when they first came out they weren't too good, so it had a lot of early poor reviews)

The lipsticks are a slightly sheer matte, so perfect for those who don't want to look too 'done' I've actually finished one and had to re-buy, which is the first time in my life that has happened

Agree with Betty777 about the glossier generation g lipstick. I have never got through a full lipstick and repurchased before, I’m now on number 3 and even tried a few of the shades I wouldn’t normally go for. They are a little sheer so suit most people.

I realy like the way the lipsticks look in the ad but am aware that editing is a thing :p

Yeah @LivingDeadGirlUK editing is a thing. And Glossier also has a very social media based marketing strategy, including engaging with “super fans” who publicize it and back it up across different platforms. Glossier Digital Marketing Strategies

I used the Generation G lipstick twice and tossed it is was so rubbish @Betty777. I really think a company should have consistent formulation from the off at those prices. If they didn’t get the formulation of a big new product right at launch, then I’m not going to trust their formulation at other times. Different if they’d recalled and replaced faulty items.

That said, I’ve repurchased Boy Brow several times and I’m on my third lip gloss. Unlikely to purchase again though. I think brows are evolving and the lipgloss is just a bit too sticky for winter. I also find their formulations just a bit too synthetic, especially for the price.

I think I was just really taken with the natural look, so different to the 'full coverage' contoured look that I've never really been able to master.

I was at the front of the line when the eyebrows were handed out so am quite pleased with current brow trends :D

I like a natural look too, a few dabs of something sheer and add mascara basically. Nothing too blocky.

To find that I usually look at organic/natural brands like Pacifica, Ere Perez, Coleur Caramel. Pixi has some fairly low key things too when I have a good rummage, plus I like trying stuff at the stand in M&S before I buy it. I also really like some Chantecaille things but it’s eye watering prices.

For brows I think thick and healthy is here to stay, but more separate strands than blocky/coloured in looking IYSWIM.

The BoyBrow makes mine a bit too solid looking for my liking. So I think I’ll try to find something a bit lighter. It might just be back to a clear mascara tbh.

I’ve tried the same glossier products a few times having been sucked in by the brands marketing strategy. But realised some just don’t suit me like the stretch concealer which covers nothing on my skin.
I’ve tried the skin tint & felt like a grease ball afterwards - it has zero coverage but it’s not meant to.

I wasn’t impressed with the lash slick mascara either

The milky jelly cleanser is great

The customer service has been really good too & they have refunded me for products that haven’t worked me.
