Where to go for professional make over and photoshoot?

Hope I'm asking in the right section?

I want to treat my wife to a professional make over (hope that's the right word?) as a surprise treat, but don't know where to start or even what to ask for / where to look.

I've no idea what is involved or likely costs, but envisage her going to a studio of some sort, having her hair and make up done (no idea what happens with clothes?) where she is made to look her absolute best and then has a series of professional photos taken for her to keep and enjoy.

Does that exist, how much is it likely to cost and where is the best place to go - prefer North West UK but will travel for the right experience or recommendation.

Thanks in advance.

Is this something she's show interest in before? A lot of the women I know would absolutely hate this. Many women don't like the idea of them as a good amount of the businesses offering them are extremely tacky.

They tend to have quite bad makeup artists....other women might be offended that you're trying to "do her up" in a way that's not her style.

Having said that...some women would love it...so if you're absolutely sure she would, then what you want to find is a photographer who is well established and who specialises in these shoots.

Many of these photographers work closely with makeup artists and they team up for shoots.

I have just googled for some ideas and I have to say, a LOT of them are indeed a tad tacky.

This guy does what looks like a nice Vintage style shoot...his colour stuff is questionable. The others I saw were offering "erotic" style poses and were awful.

Thank you.

Thankfully, she has mentioned this a couple of times in the last 12 months (not as a hint) and I'm confident she'd love it.

From what I have seen so far, I agree, much of it does look indeed tacky and based on a low price offer to get you there, followed by a hard sell to get you to fortunes for the photos at the end which is not the experience I'd want.

Surely a quality outfit should not need to do this?

I came across this site which looks a lot more professional and upfront than many, and whilst not local looks like it'd be worth travelling for?

Any thoughts on this...

A lot of money, but might be worth it for the right experience, which is the most important thing.
