How to get that glow in these dark dark days

Sarcelle · 05/11/2019 07:30

Not even winter yet but already I have that grey look about me.

The one that is caused by too little daylight, too much central heating, stodge, mardy thoughts due to winter blues.

I seem to have put on a few pounds too in the last few weeks.

Hit me with your suggestions to get a glow going. Products, motivation, nutrition...anything.

I am on a packed commuter train as I type. The whey faced look is not just on me, it's on most people. We need to get some glow....

Take vitamin D (try the sublingual spray, but a multivitamin would be fine)

If you can't do much about your working day, use the weekends to get some exercise out of doors - the more vigorous the better, but walking is fine as long as it's a proper walk done for the pleasure of walking, not just doing chores on foot. That's because exercise in the open air, ideally somewhere green or scenic, is terrifically good for your wider wellbeing.

TanLuxe Hylauronic acid with self tan in. It's a game changer.

Ruddywax · 05/11/2019 07:50

Hylauric acid, water, sleep, no booze and blusher.

Mummyshark2018 · 05/11/2019 07:56

Another vote for tanluxe drops that you can add to your moisturiser. You can deepen the glow by adding more drops.

Sarcelle · 05/11/2019 08:24

I take the Vit D, and I regularly walk in woods etc, so doing the right thing there. No booze would be a good idea!

I read that as “how do I get that glow in the dark look” ... Made me chuckle!

I think trying to get outside in daylight even for 5 mins at lunchtime and some more form of daily exercise or stretching. Plus the stuff above. Not that I manage it

BlueCowWonders · 05/11/2019 09:21

But OP don't walk in the woods! Find a route out in as much daylight as you can - it'll do you far more good (both for your skin and for your spirits)

bobstersmum · 05/11/2019 09:41

I also read it as glow in the dark look haha! I am going to try these drops they sound fab!

bobstersmum · 05/11/2019 09:51

Do you buy the tanluxe drops for face AND body, or just buy for face and use on body as well?

Mummyshark2018 · 05/11/2019 10:40

@bobstersmum I bought both initially but ran out of the face one and have been using the body one On my face and there's no difference.

EnidButton · 05/11/2019 15:54

Boringly the thing that works the best for me, is cutting out refined sugar. Easier in warmer, brighter months. It really makes a huge difference so even if cutting it out all together seems too much, cutting down as much as poss would still help. I can tell the difference in a week.

Also eating more eggs, salmon and avocados really improves my skin.

EnidButton · 05/11/2019 15:55

I also read it as glow in the dark and was kind of into the idea of glowing lipstick and eyeshadow...

RancidOldHag · 05/11/2019 20:17

I thought of Ready Brek.....

Sarcelle · 06/11/2019 18:30

I have bought the TanLuxe drops. Here's🤞

Do you use on neck and décolletage too? On the promo video I saw, they applied the serum direct to skin from dropper. Most tan drops you seem to add to moisturiser/body lotion so how does it work if you apply it "raw"?

Bought 20% off using code QUICK on Looks Fantastic.

I just use them on their own to face neck and chest. Every other night.

Wash hands afterwards though.

escapade1234 · 07/11/2019 22:03

Nothing sensible to add OP other than I read your post as “how to get that glow in the dark look”.

Sarcelle · 07/11/2019 22:15

@escapade1234 I will settle for glow anything at the moment!

Charlotte tilbury flawless filter - I use it under my eyes and on cheekbones before foundation
Laura mercier matte radiance in 01

That combo makes anyone look alive Grin

Mummyshark2018 · 08/11/2019 19:20

I didn't watch the promo video but the instructions are very clear about how many drops to add to your moisturiser depending on preferred glow ranging from 2 drops (nice healthy glow) to 12 (orange!). My advice would be to start small and make sure you give your hands a good clean!
