Morning all! I’ve just got these DM boots 😍 - any tips and hints for breaking them in?

I haven't got those particular boots but when I got my classic DM boots earlier this year I bought the wonder balm and rub it in quite frequently (it softens the leather). Also thick socks and the blister plasters work wonders.

Dd broke in her DMs (traditional style) by wearing them with hiking socks every day, building up gradually from 15mins on the first day. I think it took her 2-3weeks to get to wearing them for several hours. She did similar for walking in them, ie she didn't spend long periods on her feet, building up gradually from a 10-15minute walk during her breaking-in period, until she could wear them all day. It took her about a month. She also used the coconut balm stuff, every day at first, gradually reducing to every week or two after the first month. She had no blisters at all.

Blister plaster, duct tape and wonder balm. 3 layers of duct tape on the back of your ankles over the plasters and thick socks. The duct tape ends up getting blistered and not your feet.

No tips but this is a revelation. I can't imagine forking out to go through all this discomfort and effort trying to get (expensive) shoes comfortable enough for proper use. If something isn't comfortable immediately I just return it, I don't want blisters or sore feet ! Am wondering if this is why it takes me so long to find suitable shoes all the time.

Socks over tights (or pop socks/the feet cut off if you're wearing jeans). Having the two layers really helps prevent/ease blisters.
And blister plasters and perseverance Wink
