Hi, DD wants a bra, been wearing crop tops up to now and I agree now is probably the right time. She measures 25 inches under bust (around rib cage) and 28 inches around bust, I think this is a 25B/C cup but I could be totally wrong and also where am I going to find a bra that is a 25 underbust as I’ve never seen one for sale! Any help gratefully received!

I think that makes her a 28A?

Try boob or bust calculator, or take her to get measured properly. If she's uncomfortable then with this, suggest you go together and both get measured? Try bravissimo if you've got one, John Lewis if not. DO NOT go to M&S they're measurements are shoddy.

I know that Boux avenue come up smallish in the band as my daughter (17) is 28F but is not really as much as 28 ins round rib cage. I dont do the add 4 inches to rib measurement for her or myself as 32 band would be huge on her. I'm not sure how old your daughter is as Boux avenue may not be suitable styles if shes very young. They are mostly underwired. Have had M &S bras for her they start at 28 band but I agree don't get measured there. Also Freya do Deco soft non wired bra that is quite tight in band and suitable for younger girls. You can get something called a Rixie Clip which tightens the bands but these are bit hit and miss depending on bra type. I've also taken the band in with some success but this does alter position of the straps. My daughter gets so fed up shes so limited with styles while her friends buy theirs from Topshop etc

@DontLettuceBrexitLettuceRomain....love the name ! 😁

Thanks, she’s 11 so something age appropriate (she’s so innocent but is very girly and loves pink and fuss would be off to Victoria’s Secret if given the choice as she really wants grown up bras like mine) so I have to rein her in!

I think I will go to John Lewis as a start and get her to try some.

When DD was younger she was a 28 band but reasonably curvy (can’t remember the cup size). I really struggled to find her 28s with anything more than a b cup so I think you’ll have a real problem with a 25” band.

I did come across a brand on eBay called Royce that came up pretty small in the band. They did returns so it may be worth trying.

BigFatBloomers · 01/11/2019 22:24

It may be worth trying something like this one from M&S which is like a crop top but with a bra fastening

redtulip12 · 01/11/2019 22:54

You are right that it would make her a band size 25. My daughter should be a band size 26 but I have to get her 28's as they are impossible to come by. She wears them on the tightest hook.

AnotherEmma · 01/11/2019 23:03

Your DD is a 26 band (they only do even numbers!) You would need more measurements to confirm cup size but maybe D?

You could try Molke as they do a big range of sizes and they're fun designs. Not cheap! But you could look for second hand on eBay or FB (I think there is a Boob or Bust buy and sell group).

Thanks for the advice all, very helpful, we’re going shopping today. I’ll also check out molke

Good luck with shopping today.
Didn't mean to type D btw, meant to type C... depends on the bra though and if she's going up a band size she'll go down a cup size.
