Stitch fix-worth it?

Since having a baby [though he’s probably too old to blame it on blush] I’ve lost any sense of how to dress! Has anyone used stitch fix and found that it’s helped them have that “ I’d never of chosen this in a shop but having had it selected for me it’s instant love” experience that I’m too lazy to get in any other way?

I'd love to know what brand the skinny ribbed jumpers are that gthree of you above have kept (and any photos?) They must be really nice Grin and I struggle to find nice jumpers.

Do you get money off with one of these codes? Thank you.

fastliving · 20/01/2020 18:06

@Sammi38 you get £15 off with my code (I think I do too) which means your first box is free to try and you get £5 to spend too.

ChoccyJules · 26/01/2020 21:16

@fastliving can you tell if anyone used your code? I have tried the link but it is trying to charge me the £10.

Should work, if not PM me and I'll send it to you again.

Thanks!

I've had my first box...

Interesting mix, nothing I would have tried on if I had seen it in store.

4 of the 5 items were brands called 'Editors Cut' & 'Mauvette' which I've googled as I've never heard of them.
They are stitch fix own brand, which explains why I've never read of them.

I am not keeping any of the items, I liked trying on something different, that's the whole point to me, but none of them were really me.
I need to fiddle with the settings, its very hard to describe what you are looking for!

I got my first box free trial - link below for free trial.

But even if I had to pay the £10 I think I will for a few more months, its so much easier than trawling round the shops and you save the £10 in parking/transport/coffee if nothing else!

MCBerberLoop · 30/01/2020 16:59

I really like it, kept three things out of four the first box. I just don't have time to shop and I think their customer service is good.

Here's another link if anyone needs one:

It’s trying to charge me £10 on either of the above links Hmm

Those of you who have tried stitch fix, do you think the stylists were real people? I read an interview with the woman who set it up, initially in the US. She didn't come from a fashion background but from a business/IT background. I got the impression that her big idea was gathering lots of data from customers and using it to create algorithms which predict what people will buy. My guess is that this is much cheaper than employing stylists and also potentially generates really valuable data that the fashion manufacturers might want to buy.

slipperyeel · 02/02/2020 16:51

FYI I just got my first delivery and I’m really impressed. A lovely midi pencil skirt I wouldn’t have tried in and a stretchy pinafore I wouldn’t have picked out in a million years. They’d obviously read my profile as everything was black, navy or grey! Wink

I’m going to keep everything so I get a 20% discount.

SlipperyLizard · 03/02/2020 20:40

I got my first delivery today and it was pretty disappointing. One pairs of trousers that were culottes but too long on my short legs (I’m 5’6” but wear petite trousers) - I had told them about my stupid body proportions!

3 tops, two of which were awful colours that I imagine would only suit a small number if people. One that I loved the neckline of but just couldn’t work out how to style the bottom so it didn’t look mumsy.

A long cardigan that my DD said looked like a dressing gown, again totally wrong for my body proportions.

I’ll give them one more go but I could have picked random things in a shop and done better.

fastliving · 06/02/2020 18:46

Here's my code if anyone wants to try it for free?

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 06/02/2020 18:55

FWIW I've had 2 boxes and have sent everything back each time. They add a massive premium on to everything I would have been interested in purchasing, for example there was a Joules blouse I loved but it was £60 as opposed to £45 if I'd got it direct from Joules. A pair of Warehouse jeans were £50 but direct from Warehouse were £35. I think it's a total rip-off tbh.

fastliving · 06/02/2020 23:54

The hunting were the prices on the labels?
Were the clothes on sale on the original brands websites?
I think stitch fix now price match, but that's pretty bad if they have inflated prices like that?
I think it's different if for example Joules had a flash 20% sale because retailers are always doing that - although it would be interesting to see if stitch fix ever offer sale items/flash sales and pass on the discount to us.
