Flattering workout clothes...?

... is there such a thing?
I noted the Christmas princessing thread and want to be less of a frumpy fat blob by Christmas. I plan to go to fitness classes twice a week and generally do more walking with DD in the buggy... but there are mirrors EVERYWHERE at the gym and I can’t stand catching sight of myself dressed in saggy New Look leggings and an oversized T-shirt. It’s too demoralising Blush
Can anyone recommend a shop for some flattering work out clothes? I love the look of Sweaty Betty but budget can’t quite stretch to that sadly.

Sweaty Betty have good sales and offers if you sign up to their distribution list. Decathlon are good too but since trying Sweaty Betty I am a convert.

trader21c · 02/11/2019 09:34

DD has some nice workout gear from H and M

I love love love Bam clothing, better for the planet than polyester too.
May have a large basket waiting to be checked out too.

Asos

H&M or Sweaty Betty. The latter is pricey, yes, but you never have to pay full price and there are always bargains on eBay. It's worth paying a bit more.

Lulu lemon - normal price in line with sweaty Betty but lasts much longer and now with an outlet at Biscester village if you are near there?

showgirl63 · 02/11/2019 10:17

.....and I've sometimes struck gold in TKMaxx

ZaraW · 02/11/2019 10:38

Alo yoga, I find LuLu Lemon quality pretty poor.

Diorissimo1985 · 02/11/2019 11:30

Thanks I will check these out! Not any of these shops so will look online and eBay is a good idea

I'm afraid I succumbed to my Bam basket and I have a code to share with anyone that wants 15% off.

Destinesia · 02/11/2019 11:49

My USA Pro leggings from Sports Direct have lasted much better than my Sweaty Betty ones. I've had some nice tops from there too.

Volvemos · 02/11/2019 13:49

Bamboo clothing, Asquith (in the sale)

caffeinebuzz · 02/11/2019 13:53

Sweaty Betty, but don't pay full price they always have offers on.

sableandI · 02/11/2019 14:03

I bought my work our outfits from Matalan, h&m and Asda George do good sports bras(£10). Good Luck

trader21c · 03/11/2019 13:56

I swear by Sweaty Betty

LonelyPiggy · 03/11/2019 14:02

Hmmm I've been looking at Bam gear - I love love love their socks. I'm very sweaty though - does their stuff wick moisture away drspouse ?

werekitty · 03/11/2019 14:20

Decathlon is very good value, I love their leggings to go running in as you can fit a phone in the side pocket

nixso29 · 03/11/2019 14:21

Myprotein.com does great gym wear and normally have good discounts across the whole site

Verite1 · 03/11/2019 14:23

I have a couple of pairs of gapfit sculpt leggings. Super flattering and v comfy

NancyEspana · 03/11/2019 14:28

I have some nice workout leggings and tshirt from Mountain Warehouse and some yoga leggings from Thought. I wear the latter with a long tank top from M&S and I actually prefer how I look in that outfit than in normal clothes 😂. Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

KondoKonvert · 03/11/2019 14:30

Tikiboo are really flattering and they quite often do discount codes!

drspouse · 03/11/2019 15:17

I find it does lonely.

Runningonempty84 · 03/11/2019 15:41

BAM stuff is great for running/gym and does wick away moisture but, weirdly, takes ages to dry once it's been washed IME.
I wear a lot of Ronhill leggings, shorts and lightweight hoodies, both for running in and also running around after the kids. It's excellent quality and you can often get good deals in the sale.

But you can't beat Decathlon, every time, for cheap yet flattering kit. Their capris, vests and yoga pants are as good as the high end sports stuff. Far FAR better than H&M and other high street "fashion" shops, because Decathlon gear is properly designed to exercise in!
