Quality Leggings 2019!

MorticiaAddamsIsMyStyleGuru · 30/10/2019 17:40

Good evening everyone.

I am searching for good, quality leggings. I've have several pairs that I bought abroad that I've worn for years but they are now only fit for the bin.

I would love to have a heavier material, perhaps a jodhpur type, as opposed to the very fine/thin material you see in Asda or Primark leggings. I definitely do not want shiny!

I'm a size 12, 5 foot four with an hour glass figure (and a very rounded tummy! It's never been flat regardless of age or weight 🤦🏻‍♀️)

What are you all wearing or have spotted in the shops recently?

Thank you for your help 💐🥂🍰

I'm pretty much the same size and shape as you. I came across Tesco's F&F Contour leggings last week and they were so good I bought another pair.
They are very heavy weight fabric with no shine but loads of elastane. They have a good wide waistband and feel very supportive on and suck you in where you need it. The black is a good solid dense black. They do not bag at the knees. I think they were £16.

I've just read another thread in Style and Beauty and fear I may be in for a hard time 😳🤣

I still wear them. Should I get my coat? 🙈🙉🙊

Thank you. That's exactly what I'm looking for. I'll go and check them out. 💐

I've just bought some fleece lined tights from Tesco. It says tights on the label but they have no feet so they are leggings in my world! They are also not fleece lined. Its more of a fake fur type material.
They are the warmest and most comfortable 'leggings' I have ever worn and don't sag or fall down at the crotch.
They even withstood a naughty dog saying hello by jumping up at me. No scags. Only 8 quid too.

Northernsoullover · 30/10/2019 17:55

I've just seen you don't want shiny. I wouldn't say they are shiny. Hard to say really. Take a look Smile

What’s your budget?

I have some Wolford ones I picked up 2nd hand for a tenner. They are amazing but very very expensive brand new........

They are substantial so I would happily wear them without a long top, unlike bog standard leggings which I would only wear with a bum covering top.

Northernsoullover

That's excellent. They may come in very handy for the Scottish winter months. I'll check them out. Thank you 💐

KiteflyingKat

They look amazing. I'm very jealous of your bargain hunting skills.

If I thought I'd get a lot of years wear out of them I'd invest all my Christmas and Birthday money into a pair. I'll check them out too. Thank you 💐

I wear leggings all the time, I'm tall, so dresses look like top. I refuse to be confined to jeans for the winter.

KiteflyingKat · 30/10/2019 18:39

Yes my leggings budget definitely doesn’t stretch to the full price amount so I only have them because I got a 2nd hand bargain!

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 30/10/2019 18:43

I bought these shaping leggings from Asda for £14. They are much thicker than normal leggings and really comfortable. I have worn them more like trousers with a big chunky jumper.

MrsMaiselsMuff · 30/10/2019 18:50

Mint Velvet ones are excellent, keep their shape and have a high waist which is lovely in the colder months.

Going to try the Tesco ones too!

VeganCow · 30/10/2019 18:55

Another one for Mint Velvet. these

Zimmumuk · 31/10/2019 17:07

Love Leggings seem to be good as well

Pancakeflipper · 31/10/2019 17:15

Mint velvet.

acloseshave · 01/11/2019 00:01

Sainsbury's have some thicker material ones, super comfy and diff lengths. Only neutral colours tho. Add some colour and google 'Lucy locket loves' leggings, activewear, casuals etc. They are fab! Prefer these to my jeans now.😉

Titsywoo · 01/11/2019 00:06

I like the mint velvet ones but if you are slender of calf and ankle like me you may find them too baggy below the knee. If it weren't for that I'd buy more but they look shit with most footwear because of that.

MangoSalsa · 01/11/2019 00:11

Bamboo Clothing enduro leggings. Last forever. Variety of lengths and styles.

MorticiaAddamsIsMyStyleGuru · 01/11/2019 08:59

Thank you everyone for the fantastic advice. I'm off shopping today and I'll see if I can have a look at some of the leggings suggested.
I'll update when I settle on a pair or three 😁

A wee (not so successful) update. I drove over to the nearest Tesco Extra shop (no Tesco in my area) and they had no leggings 😲

I can only assume I'm out of season. There were pleather leggings and a light cord legging (major fluff attraction going on with those) but no normal leggings like were suggested.

I'm going to go and try Mint Velvet next in Fraser's.

So I'll update once I get a chance to go and check them out.

Hush though they come out loooong perfect for my legs

WhoKnewBeefStew · 03/11/2019 14:58

Another vote for Tesco's F&F Contour leggings I've just gone back a day later and bought a second pair. Flattering, sturdy and warm

Bluntness100 · 03/11/2019 15:03

Try hue leggings, you can get them from amazon global store, they are fantastic, they look like jeans in varying colours but are leggings. Very flattering. They even have pockets!
