Thin wavy hair help

Hi I've got fine wavy hair (blonde) that's thicker at the back.

I love my hair bobbed and wavy/messy so it can air dry and look ok.

I usually scrunch in some mousse and when it's dry a bit of anti frizz stuff.

The last time I got it cut I told the stylist I wanted some layer put in but it seems to look finer since- and less wavy for some reason.

I like a few layers as it makes my hair rounder around my head if that makes sense- but I thought layers make your hair look thicker?

Should I grow out the layers or ask for longer ones next time? Any and all advice is appreciated!

Yes, keep the layers long and ask her to pull the front section back over when she is doing your layers this keeps a little more weight at the front. I had the same problem not so long ago, my hairdresser took so much weight off the front section of my hair it looked thin and crap.

We have similar sounding hair op and I think there has been a fashion this year among some hairdressers to cut in short layers around the crown of the head. I had this in January and it looked like a had a mullet Haloween Sad. And yes, the long buts looked wispy and weak.

I grew it out and then decided to.go back to short hair, which I love anyway.

But, next time do tell her to leave the layers longer.

THANK YOU. This is exactly the kind of affirmation/ advice I was looking for to arm myself with for my next cut. Really appreciate it!

And yes- the "bobbed mullet" is not a good look!!!
