Snag tights

I have read rave reviews about Snag tights so ordered a pair I received this morning. They are 80 denier black and are quite see-through. I have only had them on for a couple of hours and they fit well and don’t fall down but I am seriously underwhelmed by the fabric. It’s not that smooth and I suspect it will chaff in my thighs. I am a 16/18 so I don’t have trouble finding tights. Considering buying different tights on my way to work.
Have I bought the wrong style? Those who have given them rave reviews, are they about a specific type or style?

Mine look more opaque than sheshootssheimplores. Perhaps I sized up.

Theworldisfullofgs · 29/10/2019 14:36

The best tights in terms of quality for price, I've found, are from Boots.

feelingsinister · 29/10/2019 14:36

I'm sorry but please, it's chafing not chaffing.
Chafing.

Anyway, I'm not paid by them either and all the recommendations I saw were from friends who also wear them.

spongebunnyfatpants · 29/10/2019 15:49

I love my chubb rub tights from snag, they're the best I've tried.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 29/10/2019 16:56

Not being paid.

Plus size and struggling to find reasonable tights, I bought after reading about them here.

Bought some 60 and 80 D to try. I prefer the thicker ones but would love even thicker. Have bought another 6 pairs on the basis of the first couple.

Sparrowlegs248 · 29/10/2019 17:39

I posted earlier that I'm expecting my first order soon, but have returned to say that at 5ft 7 and size 14, I bought M & S size large, because the mediums were too small. The large are ok on the waist, but I've spent all day pulling them up. Hoping the snag tights are better!

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 29/10/2019 17:44

I bought 3 pairs last week after reading about them on here. burgundy and mustard , ive only worn the burgandy so far bit I really like them. They fight well and don't roll down and feel really nice. I went a size bigger though

mimiasovitch · 29/10/2019 18:15

I have some 30 denier which aren't particularly smooth, though very comfortable and they do stay put. I have started buying Next tights now though. I'm a 16/18, and buy the XL. They are smooth, have a wide waistband, and best of all have the size printed on the waistband, so Separating mine from my daughter's is easy peasy.

dontgobaconmyheart · 29/10/2019 18:43

Haven't tried snag tights but do find it all a bit baffling. I never have any issue with tights, wherever I get them from ( and i don't buy them anywhere pricey) they are always really comfortable, stay up, fit well etc. The only time they don't is if i've bought the wrong size and even then they're usually fine with minimal problems, i just pull them up and tuck them into whatever layer is underneath or a skirt waistband etc. Most of my tights are Primark and they're brill, love the fleece lined ones in winter.

Am happy to accept that i'm just 'lucky' but there seem to be threads/comments about this brand all the time, eye opening to discover how hard some people are finding it to find tights they feel work for them.

sheshootssheimplores · 29/10/2019 19:01

I always end up with tights falling down. I forgot how annoying it was until last week I wore an old pair from yesteryear and was hoiking them up continuously 🤦🏻‍♀️

DontLettuceBrexitLettuceRomain · 29/10/2019 19:06

Mine arrive tomorrow! I love my chub rub shorts from there so figured I'd give the tights a go. Have always got on well with M&S tights but have put on weight and whatever their sizing says, they don't fit past size 16/18!

Have order a pair of 30denier and a pair of 80denier so hoping for the best. Usually like 100denier but snag only do those two for some reason. There's not much choice

HermioneWeasley · 29/10/2019 20:49

Not being paid, I just love them

They are soft as leggings, don’t bag at the ankle and the crotch actually comes up to my crotch.

Am donating unworn M&S ones to local charity shop and buying more snags.

sugarbum · 29/10/2019 20:56

I'm a massive fan of snag tights. However like others have said, if you normally have no issues finding tights that fit, then it's no big deal. I always bought m and s but they were never as generous as needed and would slide down the crotch. I find snag so comfy up top. I do get nora batty wrinkles at the ankles by the end of the day because the size I pick (f) are a teeny bit long. But still miles better than alternative. None of mine have ever laddered.

DropZoneOne · 29/10/2019 21:01

I sized up and mine look opaque. A little baggy on the ankle but so comfy and didn't budge from my waist. I wish I'd bought the size down to compare though.

NancyEspana · 29/10/2019 21:06

Size 16 here and I love them. No, I am not being paid to say that Halloween Smile.

I think brand new, M&S tights are about as good as Snag, but they go to pieces after a few washes. I have washed my Snag tights a good few times now and they're like new. I've also had a few things happen which normally would've resulted in a ladder with other tights, but my Snags are still perfect.

Divebar · 29/10/2019 21:58

I’ve ordered some and I’m waiting impatiently for them to arrive. I do have some Autograph tights which are an ok fit but I wore a random pair the other day which had weird seams around the crotch and they sagged and rubbed my thighs. Not a nice sensation. I have bought Snag chub rub shorts which were great in the summer so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I am a 16/18 and never really had this issue as a 14/16.

Theflying19 · 30/10/2019 08:21

My problems with most tights are length and waist band tightness - most lycra tights give me stomach ache they are so tight at the waist, and that's with me going for xl with a fairly slim waist.they also have to stretch so tightly on my legs it's not pleasant to wear them (5"7 and size 12).
Now I only wear Snag and Heist. I love my Hesit ones the absolute best as I can a buy low waist and they feel softly velvety. Coming a close second, however, and winning points for price are the snag.
I bought my tall daughter a multi pack for school though and noticed that these seem significantly rougher and have seriously hobbled in the wash (and we only was blacks with other blacks so they must just pick up lint like nobody's business).

BikeRunSki · 30/10/2019 08:29

I bought some last year and was fairly underwhelmed. I’m talking (5’8”) and fat-ish (16/14) do thought they might fit better than other high street tights I’ve had. The light ones (40D) I had snagged within a few hours and the thicket ones were very sweaty.

I’m back to my John Lewis bamboo favourites. I’m an XL in them though. Snag’s strength is their wide range of sizing and colours. I’m not too bothered about having yellow or green legs though. Burgundy is daring enough for me!

Nagabagasaurus · 30/10/2019 13:38

Absolutely not paid. All I can say as a six foot tall and larger lady this is the first time I have tights since I was sixteen. Now sixty. They are beautiful colours, wash really well, feel great and I am hooked.

Lumene · 30/10/2019 15:46

Not being paid but happy to take donations Grin

Another 6fter size 18 really happy to find well fitting tights.

SauvignonBlanche · 31/10/2019 19:39

Does anyone else find they come apart at the toe?
