Reusable face wipes/pad recommendations?

I have been using some pads which you pop in the wash in a drawstring bag to avoid keep buying and throwing away wipes and cotton wool pads, but they're already falling apart after about 5 washes (they were quite cheap ones). Does anyone please have any recommendations? Flannels etc are too rough for my face, I have heard of Face Halo, but as they are more expensive it would be great to hear about anything else people have found work well. Also keen to find anything else like cotton buds etc people would recommend that are more environmentally friendly.

I've been using the bamboo "cotton pads" and had no problems (the bambaw brand), but also have a Face Halo and I have to say it's really good. I use it before a hot cloth cleanse, wouldn't just do it by itself. If I'd found out about it first I wouldn't have bothered with the pads, although I'm still using both as find the simple rinse on the pads less of a faff than washing the Face Halo with soap, which you do need to do, then chuck it in the 60 deg wash with the sheets.

I do plan to shell out for another Face Halo or two in time as it's brilliant at removing makeup, took it on holiday instead of micellar water + cotton wool.

I use reusable cotton pads from CheekyWipes, and they are very good. Chuck them in with a normal wash.

I got them for my daughter but I really recommend the tots bots wipes! I use a corner for toner/make up remover and they wash back to bright white. I had some nice bamboo/cotton (grown up!) ones but they were so small that they kept getting lost in the wash.

I bought a pack of bamboo flannels which are very, very soft. Even after lots of washes, they're still very soft.

I have muslin cloths. They’re fab.

FriedasCarLoad · 26/10/2019 10:16

I’m so sorry if this sounds rude, but have you tried expensive flannels or cheaper ones? The expensive ones seem (to me) to be a lot softer.

I use a Konjac sponge.

Go to Poundland and buy their baby flannels which are soft fleece and remove makeup brilliantly. £1 for 3

I’m interested in this too. I find flannels much too abrasive as my skin is quite sensitive, even the pricey ones.

Chivers53 · 26/10/2019 14:24

Thank you for the suggestions, I've tried muslins as I had loads for baby, might try them again but cut them into smaller squares I can pop in the wash. And no not rude at all to suggest more expensive ones, happy to pay more if I know they will last :)

These are advertising all over my instagram at the moment and I'm tempted to try them

Primark sell reuseable make up remover cloths - they’re fleece feeling so v soft.

I bought them in a pack of three and I swear they’re magic - they get covered in make up as I use them with a balm cleanser first but just chuck them in a wash and they come up like brand new.

I bought the first three about 6 months ago and then another set a few weeks back - I can’t tell the difference between the old ones and the new so they do last.

Nice soft flannels from M&S are the best.
