Timberlands or Dr Martens?

Hello! I'm looking at buying some boots for my walk to work every day through the winter, but I'm not sure whether to buy Timberlands or Dr Martens. If you have either, are they worth the money? Are they hard to break in? Are they waterproof?

All advice welcomed!

My son had DM Chelsea boots and wore them to and from school for 18 months.

I bought him Timberlands this year and after 7 weeks they look worn already. He says they are comfortable and waterproof but I don’t think they’ll last like Docs.

100% Timberlands. Especially if you've seen some you like.

I work in Scandinavia a lot and so many of the women wear black Timberlands to work all winter (casual office where black jeans/casual dress is pretty much the work uniform). They're warm, but not too warm to wear indoors, grippy (ie they walk into work / around site in them when it's snowed), waterproof (if you get the right ones) and so comfortable. I am a convert!

Oh and I realise you said it didn't matter to you, but Scandinavian style is so cool. I spend my time in Copenhagen airport getting style inspiration (and shopping: they have loads of amazing and expensive shops there)

@mincepiesfordays so what was your decision at last? What did you choose? Are they comfortable?

Dangerfloof · 30/10/2019 19:39

Timberlands are not waterproof
Mine are. And I bought them this summer in the sale. So not old. Also no need to break in.

What shoe size are you? I got my docs from the kids section of office shoes and they did not require any breaking in. Comfortable and warm. Would love timberland also but atm the purse wont allow Sad

I won't lie- I spent too much in the Christmas Bargains thread and realised that I really shouldn't buy myself boots over £100 this close to Christmas! I've been mooching about in knee high suede boots from asos that I nearly binned two years ago...Blush

Timberlands make the most comfortable shoes. (all their models imo, btw. Not just the boots....)

I also own a pair of docs. They're nice but absolutey needed to be walked-in. => blisters.

Tims for sure, no breaking in with mine and mine are waterproof.
