Hair colour without ammonia or peroxide

Looking for any advice. I want to go a shade or two lighter in my hair. I've been dying for years due to grey and feel the colour is starting to get a little aging. I was planning on using a hair colour remover to help lift the excess dye. But for a few weeks after you need to use a hair dye without ammonia OR peroxide. Nice and easy (I think) used to do one but this doesn't seem to be available anymore. I cant afford to pay a hairdresser for colour correction and don't want to risk bleaching at home. Any one have any ideas for what to use instead?

I have dark ish brown hair which suits me best cool toned. When I used the colour remover in the past I was left with a very orange hue, especially on the grey. So dont think I could style it out for several weeks!

If you want to strip the colour out, you could try a medicated shampoo. I can't promise it will work.
Most hair dyes contain peroxide or ammonia.
I would try a shampoo that tints your hair, Superdrug do one and there's a current thread that might be helpful:

I have had some hair loss recently not through hair colour ,but found Poly colour leaves it in a lovely condition,
I usually use nice& easy but always had some hair left in the plughole, not since using this,it is very gentle, and leaves hair silky soft and good condition, not as harsh as the most up to date ones
