I used to live in Paris!

When I was there, I remember the end of October being surprisingly cold, but it was a good few years ago now and I do think it may change depending on the year, so don't take my word for it!

I would definitely bring comfortable shoes. When I was there everyone wore ballet flats or boots. I would go with boots over skinny jeans or trousers in the cold. Some shirts and vests and a jumper or cardi.

You will need a warm coat. Everyone seemed to wear dark coloured or camel, knee length, wool coats. I'd bring a scarf, possibly even gloves and a hat if you're planning to be out all day. They don't take up much room and they will be a god send if it's as cold as I recall.

For the children, I'd bring warm things too. Disneyland is mainly outdoors and I imagine there will be queues for some things, so I would plan to take warm things in case you need them there.

Paris is amazing. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Wow! Thank you @agatha ! Great ideas thanks, I’d never have considered bringing a wool coat, I have a beautiful camel one, I just need to change the buttons Grin

It’s all about layers, for all three of you!

I layer my boys up in long-sleeve tees with short-sleeve ones over the top (like little 90s Britpop icons) then I can swap the layers over the next day if they get the top layer grubby. I also take thin cardigans/sweaters for them or those very light Decathlon-type fleeces. I’d probs only take one per of shoes per kid for a trip like that - comfy trainers.

For me I’d take two pairs of jeans, a couple of long-sleeve tops, a couple of jumpers and a dress that I can wear over leggings or tights (maybe a dungaree-type dress), with one of the long-sleepovers underneath. Shoe-wise I’d probably just take comfy trainers and comfy boots.

I should add that I resigned myself many years ago to always being the least stylish person in any given room when I go to France. The sooner you make peace with this, the sooner you can give up dicking around on Pinterest frantically searching for “French girl capsule wardrobe” the night before a trip, in my experience 😃

It's pretty cold and rainy at the moment. Wool coat probably not a great choice. Remember you'll end up carrying it a lot. Personally I'd want a down coat as they fold up very small.

I did pretty much this exact trip a couple of years ago, and this is what I took (for me!).

In retrospect I definitely took at least one jacket too many; would swap the leopard print for a wool coat and leave either the blazer or leather jacket. The down coat is Uniqlo and acts as an extra layer under any other. The blue coat on the left is waterproof - it did rain hard for a couple of days while we were there.

I wouldn't take those particular flat blank shoes now - would do loafers instead. The jumpers were essential. So it's basically 2 x jeans, 2 x jumpers, 2 x long sleeve tops, 1 x flat boots, 1 x trainers, 1 x smart flats, 1 tote bag, 1 smaller cross-body. I light waterproof, 1 down coat, 1 wool coat + 1 jacket if you've room. Both the waterproof and down fold up into bags.

It was a great trip, have fun! And don't forget an umbrella.

Yeah, true about having to carry your coat about when you're indoors. Maybe something like a down coat, as pp suggests, as long as it's reasonably waterproof as well as warm.

Brilliant! Love hearing everyone’s experience! Loved the pictures too, thank you, I’ve never been to Paris before and am nervous about looking a grump but as a nearly fifty mum I can’t imagine many people will be bothered about what I look like!

I did a capsule wardrobe skirts/skort (hate that word) and pinafores with sweaters and dm shoes with leather jacket and felt tres chic, seemed to fit well and tbh, although some people were Uber stylish, most people were dressed pretty much the same as we are here. I could have worn any of my usual gear and been Fine!
