What would you wear with this?

Please be gentle, I'm new to s&b! I'm struggling to adjust to my post baby body, and for the last 9 months refused to buy anything new as I was adamant I would slim down again. Needless to say it's not happened and wearing maternity clothes and clothes 2 sizes too small is doing nothing for my self esteem (so in turn I comfort eat, vicious circle!)

I'm trying to buy a small selection of outfits in my current size (18, sometimes a large 16) for KIT days at work, playgroup etc so I feel a bit less frumpy. I've bought the attached yesterday and feel quite good in it, but I don't know what shoes/accessories would go, and I just think they would help me feel a bit more 'finished'... I've always been envious of people who look really stylish, However my wardrobe still seems to largely resemble that of my sixth former self 10 years ago, so I need a bit of guidance!

Please excuse the mess of the spare room, it's a bit of a dump but I put the mirror in there earlier in the year so I could avoid it

I would wear a long bright scarf and smart black ankle boots with it.

Scarf or necklace, ankle boots or flats, matt opaques.
Pinafores are very easy to wear. I have several in different fabrics and colours.

and if you don't have ankle boots, black chunky loafers would look great (kind of contribute to the preppy look but not overly obvious) Loafers are also incredibly versatile for work wardrobes - less princessy than ballet flats and more grown up, but also better in crappy weather

I'd wear some cute leather Mary Jane style shoes

Def. chunky flats. Not dainty ballerinas-type shoes

@rockchick1984 it was from new look, £20. I think they had it in black too, and I got Into a 16 which made me happy. I have long legs, particularly hip to knee so finding a dress that covers my bum (particularly if kneeling/crouching with the baby) is a real rarity!

A nice colourful scarf in for example a lovely shade of green or reddish brown and some dark brown or black ankle boots.

I would wear a couple of pendant necklaces with different chain lengths, and some ankle boots that aren’t too tight around the ankle. You could always add a jersey jacket over the dress if you need another layer.
