I know not really S&B but help a cold miserable one out please!

I'm cold blooded and categorically not looking forward to the winter. We have a 15 tog duvet - supposedly - that is on the bed year round but is not enough warmth for me when it gets cold. Is an electric blanket the way to go, or a single extra duvet or bedspread for my side, as DH is never as cold as I am? Do I look for an old fashioned wool blanket?

A good wool blanket on your side, socks and full length pj's. I find the weight of the wool helps me to feel cosy. Although we are under 4.5 tog year round due to DH!

Get an electric blanket with dual controls. Your side on, his side off.
You can preheat and/ or keep it on low all night.

Fellow cold person here. I always wear socks in bed, even in summer, and have a hot water bottle. We switch to flannelette bedlinen in October, which go through to the Easter holidays. It’s like sleeping in a hug. We have three lovely sets of Orla Kiehly, via John Lewis on rotation - they were quite £££ but worth every penny, plus a fleecy blanket over the foot of the bed. MIL bought us an electric blanket a few years ago, and that is amazing on properly cold nights, just pop it on about 30 minutes before bed (but remember to switch it off!). Also great on weekend mornings before the heating kicks in. Our cat is a huge fan.

A fleece blanket on your half of the bed, and one over you, then duvet.

I find a flat sheet, preferably a flannel/brushed cotton one, duvet on top and then cotton quilt folded over the bottom works very well as it keeps out draughts. I may add a wool blanket if it gets really cold.

Similar to PP, on v cold nights I cuddle up in a fleece blanket, then duvet on top.

And wool blankets (or any blankets) should be under the duvet, not on top. Apparently the duvet traps the air that is already warmed up, if you put a blanket on top it adds weight but very little warmth

Like welshgreen said. They are phenomenal. It's hard to find the words to describe the ecstasy of getting into a pre-warmed bed.
