What foundation do you use?

Please help!

I have oily skin, looking for the perfect foundation non oily with good coverage and long lasting.

I've been using Lancôme for a while, price isn't an issue but I always get the shine still

I tried the colour stay foundation that was bloody awful

Spent £30 on Estée Lauder after the good reviews and it's horrendous. It sits on top of my skin rather than blends in and is honestly one of the worst ones I've ever tried!

What works for you? I just want to have nice looking skin, as my natural skin is blotchy and acne scarred. Cost isn't an issue

Try and get samples rather than buying full size bottles. I’m super picky with foundation and have wasted so much money over the years.

My absolute holy grail is Clinique even better glow, however I have fairly dry skin so it might not work for you. Clinique are usually generous with samples though.

Sexnotgender - I agree with Clinique Even Better Glow, I love it too but don't you find it expensive? I've got a bottle that I got cheaper from Ebay but the full price is quite a lot. I'm waiting to see how long the bottle lasts though to see if it works out cost effective.

Do you use other Clinique make up too?

Paddingtonthebear · 15/10/2019 20:01

Nars Sheer Glow

Wavingwhiledrowning · 15/10/2019 20:11

I always come on here to say Maybelline Fit Me. It's not mega expensive, doesn't promise the world. But for me (oily skin, prone to acne) it's been a total game changer. I only need a tiny amount, and a dust over with powder (rimmel clear complexion) and I'm set for the day.

OhTheRoses · 15/10/2019 20:15

No 7, matt mousse combined powder in a pot. About £14.

Sexnotgender · 15/10/2019 20:23

citygirl1961 no I don’t find it massively expensive, a bottle lasts me about 2/3 months.

I don’t actually use any other Clinique makeup, I’m not brand loyal! I buy whatever I like from whatever brand it happens to be from.

stoplickingthetelly · 15/10/2019 20:33

Maybe you should try a matifying/oil control primer underneath your foundation. Just put it in the areas that get oily. This might work better than just changing foundation.

I have oily problem skin and I use IT Cosmetics Oil-Free Matte CC cream. Looks great, stays put and hides a multitude of sins.

I also sometimes use Armani Beauty's Lasting Silk. It lasts well but is much more lightweight coverage than IT Cosmetics so it can need some layering to get the depth of coverage to cover my badly behaved skin. It looks amazing on though and makes my skin look fabulous but natural.

I also have oily acne prone skin and my current and holy grail is the Hourglass stsixk foundation. It blends so well, use a little or a lot depending on how much coverage you want and it doesn't budge throughout the day. The best thing is that I can't even feel it on so it's great for everyday. It's pricy but worth it!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 15/10/2019 21:18

YSL All Hours. I use only a little, and blend it well, so the coverage isn’t too heavy. I used one of theirs for years and they discontinued it (of course they did) and this is the closest I have found. I think if you used it heavily it would be very matte - I use the Hourglass powder over it.

Branleuse · 15/10/2019 21:35

what about maybelline matte mousse. I find that good on oily days

PurpleDaisies · 15/10/2019 21:36

Urban decay naked skin. Looks like you’re not wearing make up but have naturally fantastic skin.

Evanna13 · 15/10/2019 21:38

Bare minerals is great

dontgobaconmyheart · 15/10/2019 22:28

Currently have on the go- Lancome Teint Idole, which is my go to, if my skin is dry I mix it with the No. 7 hydraluminous one because i want to use it up (won't be rebuying).

Recently picked up a travel size of the It Coametics CC cream and the coverage was good but it broke me out and I hate the strong fragrance it has so have passed on to a friend.

I'm happy to spend on foundation as it's what makes me feel confident and a bottle lasts me at least 4 months but the best I've used by far recently (no word of a lie) is the Matte foundation in Primark, the one in the square glass bottle. It's brilliant, £5, and they have a Porcelain shade that's pale enough for my ghostly pallor.

Brownie points for my DP who forwarded me a news article about it saying ' look it says it's as good as that one you use' (the Lancome) - very very out of character for him Confused but I'll take it.

Thanks everyone

I use MAC Studio Fix Fluid most of the time, then the moment I get hormonal spots (always monthly, always around the chin area) I switch to Bare Minerals which keeps them at bay! I once tried Estée Lauder Doublewear and it was a disaster! The coverage was good and it certainly remained on all day (a drawback for Bare Minerals in my opinion!) but it broke my skin out endlessly and whilst in person the colour looked ok, in any photos taken I looked like a ghost, I think there's a reflective pigment in it or something! Go to the MAC counter and ask them to properly colour match to your skin, it's worth taking the time to do this to avoid tide marks around the jaw!

thenewname · 16/10/2019 10:21

Sorry is it the hourglass stick one that is good and also pp which bare minerals is it you recommend?

Parkmama · 16/10/2019 12:16

@thenewname the loose powder, get a couple brushes . . . I use a small one for concealer areas and then a big one to brush all over the face, then I use the mineral veil on top
