Could my hair be this hair?

I’m going to attempt to attach photos. Basically I’ve grown my hair out from short and want it to get a bit longer. However, it’s fine and crappy wavy so doesn’t do long very well. I’d like something that I can tie back eventually (nearly there) but can be styled for work or out and look cool (for want of a better word!) could my hair do this? Should I do this cut/dye or would I regret it? I worry the fringe would really irritate me. But I look better with hair on my face as have big forehead.
If not this cut - any suggestions? Don’t necessarily have to dye it but fancy something edgier than current.

This is my hair not blow dried or anything - just washed and dried on it’s own this morning

I have a similar cut to that (not that colour) but with a shorter and heavier fringe. I love it as I can have it sleek and glossy or the beachy type waves in the picture and it's still long enough to tie back or to do a few other styles with.

My hair is fine (lots of it) and has a few curls and lots of waves and kinks - dried on it's own it's huge (fluffy!) and goes in all directions but easier to tame with the sort of cut you want. I stick to blunt cuts and a heavier fringe; layers become a sticky - out nightmare!!

Cheers Ridged for posting - what do you use to get waves in your hair like that?
I’ve never had a blunt cut on my hair before - my hairdresser is always very keen to layer because my hair is fine (she says) I don’t have loads of fine hair annoyingly so it’s pretty crap generally! Is a blunt cut feasible on fine not much hair or do you need the depth of hair to carry it off?

You will lose a bit of legth when it is cut so it might be an idea to grow it a bit first or after a chop.
Nice style.

My hairdresser says a blunt cut is best for me precisely because it's fine - goes flyaway otherwise. I use styling product and just make the waves with my straighteners. I am awful at doing my own hair and find it easy - if I can manage it I am sure that anyone can!!

These types of hairstyles suit thin / fine hair so you should be okay but you do need to grow your hair out a bit more.

MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours · 13/10/2019 20:02

don't let her layer it if it's fine....mine need the weight otherwise it does all sorts of weird things, ...it fluffs and spikes and pokes and I look like a dishevelled paper boy

i really do not know what it is with hairdressers and layering!

That’s all over bleach plus toner. It’s a commitment but one that I have made (although with short hair). You need to do it every 8 weeks or so and it can be expensive.... but I love it and you can play around with fun toners. It also changes the texture of your hair mind, it’ll be dryer and probably suit a blunt cut better as a result tbh. If your hair is fine and that’s your natural colour it’ll probably lift (bleach) well. Do it.....

Ooh I’m loving the support thanks!
How many more inches do I need to gain do you think? I’m up for commitment, my hair has been crap for a while and I’m nearly 40. It’s time 😂
I wonder what it is with layering? I’ve suggested a blunt cut before and it didn’t go down well at all.

Yup natural colour - used to home bleach and dye all the time. Tempted to get the cut then dye myself but it’d be hard to get a result like that I think
