Dyson Hair Wrap a year later?

I'm still hankering after one.
Those of you that have them is it still the HG of hair stylers?
I've got thin, shoulder length, lank hair.
Game changer or gimmick?

Game changer. It does take some getting used to though.

Had mine for a few months after wanting one was a year. Love it. Had made such a different in the condition of my hair and the fact I can style it each day. (Fine Poker straight hair that I like to curl) my 3 year old loves it too as it's so much quicker and cooler to dry her hair.

I’ve had mine since Christmas and I use it everyday. I don’t curl every day, but use the hot brush setting daily to tame my unruly fringe and I’ve not touched my previous hair dryer. Love it.

Mixed feelings here. I don’t rate the curling bits as you can only do tiny bits of hair each time so it takes ages. I also can’t get them to last, no matter what products I use.

I do get really good results from the smoothing and volumising attachments, but I suspect I could have got similar results for that from a much cheaper appliance!

I'm really interested in getting one and have been back and forth trying to make a decision for the whole year! I have quite fine hair but lots and lots of it. Its straight but goes to a fluffy frizz. Straighteners make it too straight and can look slightly lank. The babyliss big hair gets a great result but takes an age to do.

Would anyone recommend me getting and airwrap and if so which model?

Pinkmexicanskull · 13/10/2019 09:55

I love mine- it’s a great investment. Incidentally I did the QVC easy pay and it’s much more
Manageable cost wise.

I have mid length hair and use the dryer and brush attachment every time I wash my hair. Depending on mood I then use the curlers or just straighten with my straighteners separately. Important to note the curl I get with the airwrap is a bit more “wild” and if you want a shiny, glossy curl then it’s better to curl with GHD’s. But worth it in my opinion!

Pinkmexicanskull · 13/10/2019 09:56

@CondeNasty get both “packs” via QVC. You can’t really choose from either and they’re both really useful. And get it!

How is it with short hair? I have a long pixie

Fishfingersandwich3 · 13/10/2019 12:39

I’ve had mine a year now and not looked back! At first I wasn’t sure it was worth the money, but the major benefit is the condition of my hair, which is way better than it has ever been. Previously my hair would break when it got to just below shoulder length. For the first time ever it’s grown way beyond that and still looking strong and healthy. Using the Airwrap is the only thing I’ve really changed so I put the growth down to that. I mainly use the smoothing and round brush attachments.

Thanks all.
I'm going to bite the bullet, any idea if there'll be some amazing offer on Black Friday?

Watching with interest, I have fine hair so thought it wouldn’t be for me but that doesn’t seem to be the case! Is it good for volumising?

NotTheChef · 14/10/2019 22:03

@HairyMclareyfromDD I bought mine from Boots on a bonus points weekend, I think I got over £50 of points, I want to say over £60 when topped up with a couple of other vouchers. THen used these on the 3 for 2 presents and it paid for loads of stuff for Christmas.
