Best face wash to remove eye make up at end of day?

Don't judge me...I have a very basic skin care routine that involves washing off all my make up including eye make up (liquid liner/mascara) at the end of the day with a face wash.

I want a change from the Clarins foaming cleanser at it leaves my skin a bit dry (and it's pricey!!) - suggestions please.

I want to wash my face and moisturize without any black rings left around my eyes!

This might sound a bit weird, but I used to use Vaseline for eye makeup removal Blush

Excellent for getting mascara off, (have alopecia now, but not related to the Vaseline use Grin) I used to put a lick of it over eyelashes, dampen a cotton pad and swoop it off. It's a really good make up remover.

I use a hot cloth cleanser and a flannel. I have quite the collection of flannels so will use it twice and then wash. It’s been the best thing for getting my make up off and really clean my face.

I love the soap and glory peaches and clean. It smells gorgeous gets all my make up off. I use a flannel to wipe it off and always double cleanse.

For years I have used pure almond oil to remove my eye makeup. Just a bit is needed, run it gently on your eyelids and lashes, and then wash with soap. Takes mascara right off.

I love Origins A perfect world White tea cleanser. Smells gorgeous and takes off all my make up gently.

Garnier Micellar water

ILiveInSalemsLot · 07/10/2019 19:50

I find oil is the best too. I’ve used a dab of olive oil at tomes but I tend to use wonder oil from Holland and Barrett.
I use it all over my face then wipe off with a hot flannel.

brimfullofasha · 07/10/2019 20:37

I use Bodyshop camomile cleansing balm.

myflabberisgasted · 07/10/2019 20:41

Superdrug vitamin E oil cleanser. Just a little bit on a cotton wool pad goes a long way. Smells lovely too and my skin hasn’t looked this good for a long time.

I use Aldi face wash with scrub bits to take my make up off every night in the bath. A bargainous 69p!

Lighteninginabottle27 · 07/10/2019 21:40

Coconut oil. I tend to smear it on from the jar in the kitchen as I make my way up for a shower then use hot flannel to wipe it all away. Classy bird I know 😊

kenandbarbie · 07/10/2019 21:51

I use baby oil and a L'Oréal lotion

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 07/10/2019 21:52

Origins Clean Energy. It’s oil based so removes make up well but without drying out your skin.

Ohyesiam · 07/10/2019 22:03

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

DefinatelyAWeeGobshite · 07/10/2019 22:21

I’ve a new favourite, the Beauty Pie japanfusion one, it’s lovely. Removes all makeup easily and doesn’t leave me with blurry eyes like some other cleansers

SomeoneInTheLaaaaaounge · 07/10/2019 22:24

Lancôme Bi-facil
Honestly it is miles better than anything else. Invest in a small bottle.

TheDogsMother · 07/10/2019 22:58

Sainsbury's Micellar Water. It cleanses without drying the skin. I do spend more ion other skin items but this suits my skin. I use it with thin towelling cloths that I wash and re-use.

WhiteWineAndMagnums · 08/10/2019 07:53

Thank you all, that's a huge help!

Camellia oil and wipe off with a face cloth. Easy and better for the environment.

LaPampa · 08/10/2019 12:19

I’m told by the experts you need an oil based cleanser first to get off make up and spf then another cleanse to get the skin clean. I use pixie double cleanse and just bought a US brand called farmacy which is a balm type cleanser.

dontgobaconmyheart · 08/10/2019 13:13

I find an oil cleanse first is best to get it all off, anything is fine to be honest and no point splashing out. I've got the Simple cleansing oil on the go but only as I got given it, otherwise I'd use almond oil or jojoba or olive- whatever really. Use cotton pads to take the excess of my eyes, rinse and then do a second cleanse with a cream cleanser and a flannel.

EyeDrops · 08/10/2019 13:31

Ponds Cold Cream. Cheap as chips and does the job beautifully. I leave it on (incl eyelashes) while I brush my teeth then wash off with a hot flannel.
