Do you have a 'style' ( and do you like it?)

I've always felt a bit insecure about finding a 'style' and guess I've flipflopped between different looks ( being a bit of a sheep, if I'm honest). Now I'm 41 and care a lot less about what's considered in, sexy or stylish and am starting to like what I'm wearing.

I now wear brighter colours because I've realised that, while I might not look insouicantly Parisian, they do suit me better than tan and greige. I've just got my hair chopped because, while it might not be conventionally stylish and sexy, I think it's interesting and easy. Other than that, I like Boden dresses ( not the loud ones) with fiats, knee length boots with skinnies and skirts and cosy jumpers and nice tops that hide my bottom. I've discovered that wearing jackets feels smart and chic. And I'm now brave enough to wear lipstick. Not sure this melds into a 'style' but I finally feel that what suits me and what I feel happy in are broadly aligned and that feels nice 🙂

Please share you style ( or eclectic melange of styles)....

Yes but it’s been appropriated by teen/ tween girls and given a name 😂 so I’m now either very cool or very uncool depending on who you are.

Sort of - I like bright colours and prints... a colleague once described me as wearing 'happy clothes' Grin I like Desigual, Joe Browns that kind of thing - the kind of thing that would make fashionistas turn up their noses in horror at my gaudy gaucheness!

I don't do 'stylish' or 'chic' - I can admire it on other people but I can't be arsed to be immaculately groomed and not have a hair out of place, which is what you need to make that look work, and while it is lovely (on other people), it's kind of boring for me.

I know what suits me - I have an awkward shape, basically quite slim but with small boobs and a relatively large waist, but quite good legs. My best dress shape is high waisted skater dresses, as they flare above my wide point but show my legs.

I have a style, but it's not stylish! Summer uniform of short shorts, t-shirt or vest (usually something a bit gaudy like the dyed or band merch) with flip flops. Winter is leggings (as hideous or bold or grungy as possible so covered in horses or something) and an oversized jumper with clompy boots. If I want to look nice I wear a flippy dress with clompy boots. Or I'm in gym gear or outdoorsy gear based on what I'm doing that day. I'm mid 30s now and starting to panic that I need to change up my look but don't know where to start, plus I only buy from charity shops, plus I'm skint. I also can't wear dresses etc on not a special occasion, as how do you play in the park or climb stuff that looks fun or run around in impractical clothing?! I just like running around and jumping over stuff so it would have to be a style change that still allows for that. I think more adults should dress for fun rather than socially dictated 'style'. Maybe that will come into it's own when I start aging a bit more and feel less inclined to leap around 😆 I'm at a bit of a loss with clothes if I'm honest!

I had a baby in July and I'm normally really thin but at the moment I'm a proper pudding and don't fit in my clothes
I always wear a huge denim jacket or a puffa jacket down to my ankles
Weird leggings made of spandex and a jumper usually with a print on the front saying something that doesn't quite make sense
If I'm not pregnant I wear black skinny jeans and a leather jacket or a long puffa jacket and black tops I love black with a small amount of colour
When I was pregnant I lived in dresses because they were just easy and quick
I'm well known for a silly collection of coats
